I've been experimenting for the last three days, changing drivers, trying different systems, and posting on multiple forums and I still can't figure out what the actual issue is.
I wanted to play Dead Island again, since it's been a little while and I've never actually completed it. However, when I boot the game, I get 10 FPS in the main menu. In game makes no difference.
My in game monitor says it's using nothing of my CPU or RAM.
I've tried turning vsync on and off. I've messed with settings, deleted the settings folder entirely for a fresh(er) configuration, and verified my steam files.
I tried both games on my main system: 780ti, AMD 8350, 16GB RAM
And on my gaming laptop: 870m, Intel i7 4800MQ, 8 GB RAM
Both only ran at 10-14FPS.
I asked on Tom's Hardware, and this one guy actually went pretty far to help me, however he didn't own the game and in his words, "acquired" it without paying to test it out. He said he has 0 problems and ran at 60FPS at 4K.
Is anyone else having this problem?
