See what I did there?

If not you probably haven't seen or heard about The Ball anyway I've been playing it and thoroughly enjoying it and I was wondering on others peoples opinions of the game.

Oh for those that don't know or haven't heard about the ball its a first person puzzle game built in the UT3 engine and started its life out as a mod, made by developers Teotl Studios.

I haven't finished it yet, but so far the story is pretty much not there and beside the point, but for once it doesn't really bother me. I'm loving the puzzles and the combat took a little while to get used to but once I did it also became quite fun. My one, for lack of a better word, disappointment so far is the platforming is a bit annoying, but its something that has always been tricky to work into first person games and make it work well.

If you haven't played it yet I would highly recommend it, especially if you are a fan of the puzzles in Portal. Its no portal but it gets close.

And for those that have played it what are your thoughts on the game?

Eh... To me it just looks like the Ball Puzzles from Sonic '06, which is not a good thing.
I haven't played that but a quick look at youtube says its absolutely nothing like that, the only thing they have in common is a giant ball.

In The Ball you can launch your ball but also attract it, and the ball physics have more weight to them. From what I saw of the sonic game they are nothing alike.

Yeah, the puzzles are fantastic, but the combat, while not bad, is something to be desired. Have you played the haunted?

No, I think i've heard the name once, but I don't really have any idea what your talking about. And yeah your right, while I enjoy the combat it can feel like something is missing at times.

The Haunted is a zombie mod for UT3, and plays much like RE4. Unlike Re4, the whole point of the game is to see how long you'll last before you die. I'm sure it's free, and if not, then cheap as hell.

Looks interesting, although I don't have UT3 installed at the moment and don't really want to atm, I might check it out after i've caught up on my backlog of games.
