So the demo for Forza Motorsport 3 is now on the XBL marketplace.

I downloaded it, and have not been able to finish a single race because I keep on running into Disc Read Errors during races, and occasionally during loading screens.

Is anyone else having this problem? I'm thinking it might be my 360, which freezes at the mere mention of Forza 2, Midnight Club: LA, or the FIFA 09 demo. Yet it runs plenty of other games and demos without freezing or disc read errors.

And of course, this is a demo! There is no disc. Why should there be a disc read error?

Theres something seriously wrong if you disk error on something without a disk....unless of course you've left a disk in your drive, and it can't read that.

Bump and Update.

I was able to finish two races in a row with two different cars, but then the Disc Read Error popped up again. If this was a pervasive problem, the internet would have heard about it by now.

Maybe Turn 10 dropped the ball? Or maybe the download was corrupted.

BTW, I have no experience with demos from Marketplace, just my opinion.

I just played the demo and also got a disc-read error. Once in the middle of the first lap (with my Madden disc in tray), the other time when watching the replay of a full race (ejected the disc in the meantime). I have no problems with other games on my 360. I'll try some more cars and then try reloading the demo, perhaps the download was indeed corrupted.

I have almost the same exact problem, I have never been able to play midnight club L.A. without it freezing, and about 4 days ago I can't play anyhting without freezing, I only get disc read errors when a came is installed to my hardrive, if the game is not installed it will freeze either during loading or at the begining of the game. I took my harddrive off and played a game (I test my xbox with gta because I've played hours on it before and now I can't make it down the street) and it froze within 5 minutes. I thought I would be smart and download demos and see if it played from harddrive, I downloaded a new hunting gamme just because it came up as featured and played it for 20 minutes, no problem, so I ordered a new drive.

Yesterday I downlaoded Forza 3 and I am getting DISC READ ERROR, wtf I hope it's not going to be a gpu or cpu failure or some one in a million cause. I hope Forza 3 demo is screwed up and my drive is bad, I don't know, I am still going to put my drive in when it comes in, probly thursday, I will reply and see if I can play games again.

If not I have a PS3 and I will send you guys a link of my piece of crap xbox on fire as I urinating on it.

I am going to try more demos, please do the same and let me know if any other demos give you an issue so I can try the sameones.

Thank you, I hope to hear back because the only readon I signed up for a new forum site is because of this thread.

I haven't seen any issues. It downloaded fine for me. Maybe their is an issue with your hard drives (unlikely) but the file probably got corrupted. Redownload and try again. If the problem persists, call Microsoft.

I downloaded Forza 2 and I had the same issue, so I formated my harddrive and downloaded Forza 3 again, so far I have played 8 or 9 races and have not had any issues. I lost all my saved data oh well. I will keep my fingers crossed that my harddrive had a bug or something.
