I know and appreciate Steve Blum.
He's the voice of Cyrus (Master Scout of the Blood Ravens) from the Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War 2 games, and more recently he supplied the hilarious voice work for the protagonist's Zombie personality in Saints Row The Third.
When I first heard there would be a Zombie voice in Saints Row The Third, I couldn't be less interested, but hearing it was done by Steve Blum piqued my interest and now that I've done a full play-through with the Zombie voice, it's clearly an under appreciated work of genius.
True, it's mainly a bunch of unintelligible snarls, grunts and babbles, but there are moments of near-English that are hilarious and it's well worth checking out.
However, unless you make your protagonist also look like a zombie, the voice will have the unintentional effect of making a normal looking protagonist appear seriously brain damaged and over excitable... it's still hilarious but borders on the horrible, cringe inducing 'laughing at disabled people' type of humour.
