Anyone else psyched for Monster Hunter Tri?

So, MH Tri comes out this week. This will be my first foray into the franchise and I have to say, it looks like my perfect kind of story-lacking grindy RPG. I've done quite a lot of research and I'm just so excited about playing a challenging (not stupidly hard due to bad game design) game that I can spend hours upon hours playing.
This will be the first game I've bought for my Wii in 2 and a half years.

So, fellow escapists, are you looking forward to the game? Any ideas what weapons you'll use? Me? I'm gonna' go for the Switch Axe, that thing looks amazing.

I had been talking with VanityGirl [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/VanityGirl] about it, and this might be the Monster Hunter that gets me into the series. I've been largely unfamiliar with it up until this point, but apparently people are saying it's one of the best iterations yet.

Which is good, as I've not used the Wii too much since NMH2.

Yes yes and yes again. I only recently got into the series, one of my fellow escapists recommended it to me *cough*Leon*cough* and hot damn it's great. I've got Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and crap I haven't been able to put the thing down. It is seriously one of the most rewarding games out there. Taking down a monster takes bloody skill! You feel like you've accomplished something. So yes very much looking forward to Tri. Probably going to switch around between Great Sword and Long Sword or maybe even switch axe with it being like both!

I'm a fan of the series, but since it's going to be on Wii, even if I did get it, i'd rarely be able to play it, so I think i'm going to pass.

Can't say I'm particularly excited but it does look interesting , although I have a friend that loves the series and he was harping on about how the Wii killed it. Something to do with the motion control and there were a lot of bundles available in my local GAME store, most if not all came with a control pad. But I don't know. I'll probably have to look into it more before I decide to buy it or not.

One of my friends is a massive fan, he plays it on the PSP all the time. He's actually buying a Wii just for this game. It will be good to have a vet that can help me out.

I love how much depth the game seems to have. I was a casual observer of the series and just thought it was another hack n slash game. Then I researched it a bit more. There is so much to learn, from item preperation, to learning the attack patterns of monsters, weapon cons and pros. It's awesome.

Does your friend know that you can just use the classic controller? I'm definitely not going to be using the Wii one since motion controls really would suck the fun outta it, make all the maneuvers insanely difficult and such.

Hope you enjoy it mate, it's going to be a helluva lot of fun from what I've seen so far. Maybe even hunt with ya sometime heh.
