Excited? 12 of living in a "democratic" dictatorship has made me apathetic. Back in 2002, we protested PACIFICALLY agaisnt the government, and the military just charged agaisnt us, jailing people for pacifically protesting, killing others (yet, no trials for excessive use of force, but they did trialed people who participated in the protest), and injuring dozens.
And why did we protest? because the president wasn't fullfilling his promises, crime rate was getting higher every week, there were no jobs and there were dozens of families living in poverty and without a home, everything was getting expensive... all that plus a set of laws that ended up crippling the economy even further.
And to this day, we are even worse than 9 years ago, the capital has the highest murders per week, sometimes even reaching to 65 violent deaths in just a weekend, those who still can afford to buy dollars can't do it without the government placing a LIMIT on how many you can buy.
You can even own a bussiness because if you prosper, you are ought to get sanctioned by some law or get expropiated (that is, the government takes your bussiness away, and makes it theirs without any sort of compensation for you)
Do you see us rioting? destroying everything in our path? fuck, at least we keep some sort of integrity, we try to survive and take any chance we get to get this beast out of presidency in a non-violent way. NO, you don't even hear from us, because we're not a major power anymore, we're just the guys who make your cars run with our oil.
TLDR; After all my kind of off-topic tirade I say that, as much as there are injustices in UK, there's no way people should riot or have any sort of violent reaction for what's going on. Violence rarely solves anything, and it does more damage than good.
