OK, this has been driving me nuts for FAR too long:
Something (I can't remember what) suddenly reminded me of a great movie that I happened to watch on TV about 10 - 15 years ago. I would love to see it again, but I'm having trouble identifying it as I never did find out any of the important details, such as title, actors, director, etc. And to make things worse, I have also forgotten most of the PLOT over the years.
Here is what little I DO remember:
*The movie takes place mostly (entirely?) at night, in city/suburban type environments.
*The hero has been framed for something, and is being pursued by forces largely unknown to him.
*One of the people pursuing the hero, is an FBI agent in an old-fashioned suit and fedora-like hat. He is soon shot dead by the real villain and hidden in the trunk of the hero's car, a stylish 1950s model.
*As the hero (unaware of the corpse in the trunk) drives around trying to figure out what's going on, the blood dripping from his car is noticed and commented on by several random people, but since it's dark and the car is old, everybody just figures it's an oil leak.
*The final Hero vs. Villain fight scene takes place on or near a railway bridge or similar structure. (And/or possibly on top of a moving freight train - my memory is a little blurry here. There is DEFINITELY a freight train somewhere in the scene, though!)
I also remember one specific scene which is probably more helpful than all of the info above:
The hero learns that a person in Chinatown may be able to help him. He tracks this person down, and the Chinatown dweller tells him an ancient Chinese fable, about a poor man who was given a beautiful vase by his rich friend. The poor man was secretly disappointed by this, as he'd hoped for something to help him feed his starving family, so he put the vase on a shelf and forgot about it. Many years later, the vase was accidentally broken - and turned out to be full of gold. The moral of the story, "Look inside the vase", later turns out to be helpful somehow.
I would guess that the movie was made some time around the early 1990s, though I could easily be WAY off...
ANY attempt to help me out, is welcome!

It turns out that the villain is actually the hero's unknown and incredibly evil twin, and that he's planning to switch their identities so the hero will be punished for the villain's crimes.
