I did in Middle School. But I am done with MtG Jr. I dont play MtG anymore either, but I still have my Main Deck together, and would not be against a game if say, my brother or someone wanted to play.

I never liked how Yu-Gi-Oh's anime and actual card game had nothing to due with eachother. Or rather how the anime just made up the rules as they went.

I love the escapist where a man with a monkey ape superman pic from a show aimed at kids can call other people childish.

It's a funny world we live in.
Aimed at kids? They show dick in dbz... Even so, Im not gonna lie, I watch courage the cowardly dog regularly. :p
DBZ is pretty much for kids in Japan. And by "dicks" you mean "baby penises", and neither earn you maturity points.
No, lol. They do show other dicks than the begening scene, but whatever. Im not trying to prove my maturity. I even said i still watch some of the old toonami age cartoons from time to time. Dont take it so offensivley, i just stated my opinion. Didnt mean to offend anyone.
Sorry if I came off as offended. In fact I LOVE DBZ myself, I just think its silly that "being for kids" is a relevant quality on a forum like this.

No but I did play SNK vs Capcom on Neo Geo Pocket Color, which I'm told is yu-gi-whatever but with SNK and capcom characters. Does that count?

I really enjoyed the PS2 game, Yu-Gi-Oh: Capsule Monster Coliseum. It probably has more in common with Final Fantasy Tactics than the actual card game but I loved the creativity behind like changing battle environments for one.

I have a gigantic box with well over 500 cards from around 7 years ago.

Plus I have loads of "Limited Edition" cards and other extremely rare ones that you wont ever find these days. (Blue Eyes White Dragon from an official magazine, Shiny, has a different awesome picture and limited)

God... those were the days.

I did when I was younger, I had a reputation for beating people without using cards with star levels over 4. Ah, back in the days before people read card effects...

I don't play anymore, lost most of my cards, can't say it upsets me, I just grew out of the hobby.

Never really got into Yu-Gi-Oh, I was more of a Pokemon kid.
Still, I learned how to play, so I can do so. It just bores me.

Also, I'm pretty sure its currently the most popular card game around at the moment, so yeah, plenty of people still play. My local tournament seems to get around 30 people every week.
No, I believe that would be poker (trollface)

On a serious note, I certainly doubt that, as Magic has REALLY been increasing in popularity over the past few years, and it's existed for quite a while before Yugioh was even thought up. Never played yugioh myself, so I really can't comment on it having more strategy than Magic...but as someone whose played it for years, competed in large tournaments, and still play on a weekly basis, I find that hard to believe.

...which kinda makes me even posting in this thread pointless. Well on an almost related note, seriously, if there was ever a time to get into Magic, now would be it. You can literally go to your local card store (assuming they carry Magic), and ask for free starter decks. Yea, Wizards of the Coast literally just gives out free cards (to an extent) to get people into Magic. They're still money sucking devils, and I still hate them for making the "mythic rare" rarity, but hey, giving out free stuff seems like a good way to get people into a thing.

EDIT- I have been informed that is in fact the highest selling TCG of all time. Surprising, but hey, it is what it is.

I never really did card games, to be honest. I only collected Pokemon Cards, and that was just because I was obsessed with Pokemon. I was too young to actually know how to play and by the time I could have understood, I had lost all interest.

Not really. See, I was once into Magic The Gathering, but I left that because I didn't feel up for card games anymore. Fast forward to a time where I'm helping out at a summer program for disabled kids. One of 'em was really into this stuff and I got bored. It didn't take much effort to figure out, and I just kept beating him. And it's not for him being disabled. He knew the game better than I did. It's just that after Magic, this was too easy, even when he was legally allowed to see my hand. Suffice to say, it's not my thing.

This, Magic the Gathering is a real mans game! Yugioh is like, the gateway drug that gets kids into Magic.

I play but I have no one to duel. I live in Australia so it's not very popular and tournaments aren't held very often outside of Victoria.

Personally I play Magic. I have all my old cards from when I played Yugioh, but after the swap Magic is far more complex in my opinion. I tried getting my magic playing friends into and they laughed at me "You can play everything for free...what?" they were so confused lol. Reason I like MTG more is that every card has a use, theres so many cards in Yugioh that are just plain worse than anothers and have no use whatsoever. And seemingly everything good has been banned now, last I checked all the good cards that came out in the very first pack are banned and replaced with toned down versions. Nice thing is every single card in MTG can be balanced against a casting cost AND a rarity, rather than a seemingly arbitary "lets make this really expensive but very good, and if people abuse it we'll ban it"

I never could stomach Magic. I did Yu-Gi-Oh for a while, but I outgrew the concept of card collecting. Now I only play TCGs if they are a in a video game format and all the cards are available within the game. Less money I need to spend on cards.

I got linked that a couple of months back. Dunno if its still accurate, it says it was last updated in 2009, so could be wrong now. Think its still right though.

Never played MTG. Might try it if my hobby store does the free starter thing, that sounds pretty cool.
