I think I remember reading about it in Nintendo power as a kid. It sounded pretty awesome, if I recall, but I never played it.

I really liked Geist. It's a cool game with some great ideas, if you're willing to look past the technical difficulties like I was.

Yep, I liked Geist. Pretty original, and spooky too, for a Gamecube game. Also, the deathmatch mode (against bots) was really good. It's one of the few Gamecube games I still play sometimes.

Dunno, maybe.

Could you perhaps provide some background information on this game?
It sucks...

OT: No I have yet to play it but my friend [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/Logic%200] had gotten it and that was probably the stupidest purchase of his life.

You get captured by an evil cooperation and they perform and experiment that rips your essence or whatever out of your body and leaves you as a ghost. The game is about getting your body back, escaping the place, and thwarting the corporation?s goals.

While I can understand why other would dislike it, I enjoyed the game. Its FPS bits are functional but indeed mediocre. Eh...they're not the reason to buy the game. The whole ghost possession thing and the story (the story is good for a video game) make it original and interesting enough to be worth a play through at least. Especially since the game is now quite cheap (I bought it for $8).

Edit: I did have some fun with the FPS bits, especially with the gernades. Blowing guys before they get the chance to realize what happened just doesn't get old.

The single player, in my opinion, was terrible. The levels were boring and linear, and some of the puzzles just felt confusing. Plus the game really begins to feel really repetitive towards the middle.

The multiplayer, on the other hand, was kick ass. I used to play it all the time with my brothers. We loved that game. It was awesome to posses a missile and then attempt to crash it into somebody, even if you did miss 90% of the time.

I'm not sure what it is about the game, but despite it's minor flaws, I absolutely loved it. It was challenging without being unforgiving, while offering up some of the most memorable moments in my FPS experience in the past 10 years. Probably the best part about that game was the music, which was awesome (and for some dumb reason, no one has really ripped it, at least not in a way that's pleasant to listen to).

I find it to be a really fun speedrunning game.

Another shout out goes to the literal "riveting action sequence".

Oof, I remember that star puzzle. I had almost no time to figure it out before the shutter thing would close and I'd have to do the timing game again. The real problem was that the time game was completely broken. I had to flop the analoge sticks to each others purposes to get it and even then it was aggrivating. Did you have the same problem?

I've never even heard of it. Anyone care to describe?
I posted a brief discription a little upwards the thread.
