I played as The Siren and my boyfriend was The Soldier. It was fun and I loved the game.

I'm playing as The Siren and I still play it on occasion, and I love that game. I'm still trying to finish all the DLC but it's turning out to be a pain in the ass on my end, stupid busy life.

I haven't played any of the characters yet though, I might when I completely level up my character.

I used to play this game the most last summer, though I still play it from time to time. I either MP as a support gunner soldier or singleplay as a siren :)

Rarely have a I played such an expansive game that promised so much and was totally empty, devoid of anything interesting. I got sick of it within a couple days of getting it. No plot; no real characters (at least none who you can really interact with); no story that got me hooked. While the gameplay was pretty good, that's like saying you have a magnificent car with excellent off-roading capabilities, but you live in the middle of the Sahara desert. It was just a wide open world with nowhere interesting to go, no one to talk to (except that Goddamn rolling mini-fridge). Oh, and there was a grandiose bunch of interchangeable weapons. Wow, no two weapons are alike. Big whoop.

Why should I care about killing the same respawning wasteland raiders, exoskeleton-clad hyenas, sky moths, or purple lobsters when I am not invested in the story? My character is totally interchangeable and I felt that I contributed nothing to the world in any way, positively or negatively.

So in answer to the OP, no, I haven't played Borderlands in a long time, nor do I wish to ever play it again. There are myriad high-quality shooters and RPGs out there, and I need not waste my time on a second-rate game like this.

I just picked it up again a few hours ago. I usually play out as a Siren Phasewalker/Gunslinger. Though usually my strategy is to run into a group enemies and use my elemental attacks. Even if I die the fire and my bullets tend to kill someone pretty quickly and I'm back up.

Oddly enough, I just re-downloaded it yesterday. I prefer playing as Lillith because of the special ability and elemental attacks.

I played it solo as a support turret Soldier. Then again, I hacked it with a hex editor so I had unlimited skill points and had everything maxed out.

I play whenever I have friends who are willing.

Still love just laying down fire with Roland though.

I've played all four characters, but prefer Hunter-Sniper with health regen mod with my friend playing shotgun/support soldier with ammo regen mod. We make a damn good team. I also play quite a bit, but my PS3 is being a pain recently and refuses to read disks. I think the disk reading mechanism is shot. It's a fat 80G I think. I'm not entirely sure, since a friend gave it to me when he got a slim.

Beat it once with my Solider, starting over with a Brick character and start all the DLC's with him, and finally see what Claptrap revolution is.

Mostly sniper with health regen mod or soldier with ammo regen mod. thinking of stating a new toon and feeling the love for lillith in this thread.

I've got all four classes maxed out at level 69. Roland is a Support Gunner Soldier, Brick is a Tank/Berserker, Lilith is a Controller/Assassin and Mordecai is a Sniper/Gunslinger. So far, between me and my brother, we've found most of the pearlescent weapons and both of the pearlescent shields. Most of the DLCs are OK, Knoxx's Armory is highly recommended and the amount of movie/anime/history references is mind-bogglingly insane.

Oh, and Knoxx is easily one of my favorite villians. Of all time.

Yeah, this was my problem with Borderlands too. It is mechanically fun, but it's not engaging as a whole. There's no context, no characters, nothing in the world to pull you into it. There is no reason for exploration other than kill more respawning baddies. I got around to level 30-something and never wanted to play again.

Lilith works passably well with any weapon. I suspect she's actually better with some than the supposed expert from another class. Also Phasewalk is stupidly powerful.

I don't play any more, because while I did play it a lot, I could never play for any length of time. There was something a little unengaging about it that I couldn't put my finger on. If they cough up a sequel, I'm sure I'll play it too, though.
