Before getting WoW, I was on the fence about trying MxO and ultimately decided to wait until it got a bit bigger. Seems like years later, much hasn't changed, but it still looks interesting enough for me to eventually give it one go around.

Was just wondering if anyone has had any first-hand experience with it.

I've heard nothing particularly good about it. I played it at a friend's house and was a bit underwhelmed by the graphical presentation. That's all I can go off of though.

I'm not happy that they killed off Morpheus, though. Not that I'd consider it canon.

It's pretty much dead from what I've read, with Sony hammering nails into the coffin. I don't really mind that though, I just wanna see what the gameplay is like.

I tried it, one thing about it, it doesn't have any lag, at a time of 512kbs broad band it had no lag, a feat of engineering brilliance.

But it was pants.

Anyone else? Or is this game a lost cause?

This sums up the issue of starting MxO now really. Despite Citrus' comment, the events in the game were supposed to be canonical- following the events after the films. The issue is that they stopped doing storylines of any worth in it ages ago, meaning it is just another dying MMO in the same vein as Star Wars Galaxies.

As usual I always recommend EVE as a new MMO swap, but if that doesn't have any interest you can always wait until The Old Republic is released. MxO would be a waste of MMO time being honest.

*nods* Thanks for the input. I've been looking at EVE for some time as well.
