[HEADING=1]Apocalypse[/HEADING]

In the grim darkness of the 41st millennia there is only war.
[hr]
In the Driggana System of the Ultima Segmentum...

Previous Waaaghs have left behind feral Ork tribes, A new Waaagh that seems to be run by the Blood Axes is spreading into the system, Inklings of a Leviathan Tendril is beginning to appear as mycetic spores are causing radical changes in the wildlife of Driseadi and psykers are committing suicide all over the system, Genestealer cults are causing chaos across the system, Tau warships have been spotted on the fringes of the system, Plague of Undeath outbreaks are occurring on the Hive worlds, Evidence of Warp cultists is being found all over the system, and an unidentified space hulk has just dropped out of the warp near Drisania and is on course to crash into it.

Simply put, hell is breaking loose...

The Mechanicus due to several reasons is refusing to allow exterminatus level actions and is already mobilizing Titans. The Imperial Reavers and Deathwatch are arriving to fight off the invasions. Valhallan Guardsmen are being deployed due to their general ability to survive against the odds. Those who have so far survived on the hive worlds are being drafted into the various PDF forces. The Inquisition is arriving for study, coordination, and purification of the population.

The settled worlds of the system are Drireasay One and Drireasay Two (Forge Worlds), Drimanin and Drisania (Hive Worlds), and Driseadi (a Knight world). The moon of Driseadi is a space port and defense platform for the world, it is currently being used as a staging area for the defense of the system.

Name: Egerion Micus

Base Species: Human

Subspecies: Astartes (nee. Thunder Warrior)

Age: 10 000+ (approximately 550 years in realspace)

Gender: Male

Faction: Imperial

Career Path: Adeptus Astartes

(Order, Unit, or Chapter): Deathwatch

Specialization: Dreadnought

Rank: Captain

Affiliations: Inquisition

Appearance: (See Armour)

Weapons:
Left side: Dreadnought close-combat weapon (with inbuilt Storm Bolter)
Right side: Twin-linked Lascannons

Armour: Contemptor Pattern Dreadnought; Black with silver close-combat weapon; the left shoulder bears the Chapter Symbol of the Deathwatch, while the right shoulder shows a plain blue field, with sliver trim and two silver lightning bolts bracketing the number '12'.

Misc. Equipment: Searchlight, Atomantic Shielding

Augmetics: Modified Adeptus Astartes implants, mind impulse unit

Bio: His true name and origin are lost to the sands of time, but as Egerion he began his service during the Age of Strife on Terra. As one of his lord's Thunder Warriors he campaigned across the planet, aiding in bringing it under a unified rule.

While his brothers began to succumb to the vargarities of their sub-standard genetic engineering Egerion remained unchanged, causing much curiosity amongst the scientists that were working on the new gene-seeds for the Emperor?s new Space Marines. After through and exhaustive study, they found his survival to be attributed to a random occurrence during his initial engineering, and of little to no use to them on their current project.

Fearing he would be cast aside and abandoned when these new 'Marines' where brought into service, Egerion pushed a plea all the way up the chain of command, eventually earning an audience with the Emperor himself. Egerion asked to be put through the same processes the Astartes where going through so that he could continue to serve.

After much thought, the Emperor gave his consent and sent Egerion for a modified version of Marine implantation and training, adapting what had already been done to the newer standards. After the new gene therapy and implantations, he deployed with the XVIth Legion during their pacification of Luna. While the status as a former Thunder Warrior was never revealed to his new brothers, they could tell that something was different about him, and as a result never let him get as 'close' as their other brothers.

Regardless he served with distinction during the Great Crusade, first under The Emperor himself, and later Warmaster Horus. During a planet clearing operation against the Orks, he was gravely wounded by a Nob during a push towards the local Warboss; as Horus attacked the Warboss, a Nob armed with a Power Claw tried to blindside the Primarch. Egerion stopped the attack with his own body, allowing Horus time to finish off the Warboss, while the rest of the Marines gunned the Nob down. In honour of the sacrifice made on his behalf, Horus ordered that Egerion be interned within a dreadnought so that he may continue to serve so faithfully.

During the next one hundred and fifty or so years he provided his brothers with heavy support in times of need. In the closing days of the Interex campaign; the ship he was being transported on, in stasis, suffered an unknown failure and vanished into the warp, where it would eventually be amalgamated into a Space Hulk.

Roughly ten millennia later the Hulk emerged from the warp in the Ultima Segmentum, near Talasa Prime. The Deathwatch immediately scrambled several kill-teams to the Hulk to investigate and deal with any threats that may have been aboard. Surprisingly there was little of consequence on board, save a small band of Orks which were quickly put down, and the remains of an Emperor class battleship. Moving quickly to secure anything of value before the Hulk went back into the Warp, techmarines scoured the vessel, finding Capt. Micus still in stasis in a relatively undamaged section of the ship.

Upon seeing the Sons of Hours markings on his armoured body some called for his destruction, saying that it was too great a risk to let such a powerful potential heretic awake. The Forge Master disagreed and ordered Capt. Micus brought back to the Inquisitorial Fortress on Talasa Prime. Over the next century, he was studied and slowly awoken. When he was told about Horus' betrayal and the carnage that has ensued, Egerion went into an inconsolable rage for a time laying waste to several section of the fortress (this outcome was not unforeseen, and the affected areas had already been cleared of personnel and equipment).

Once he had regained his composure, Egerion was offered a chance to fight again alongside the Deathwatch. Taking the opportunity, he has served ever since.

Misc:Due to his 'troubling' past, his true existence in only known to a few senior members of the Chapter; and because of his past, he bears an especially deep and utter loathing for the Black Legion. Though he tries to keep his opinon to himself, being trained in the Imperial Truth, means that the current state of affairs drags at him.

Name: Tybalt

Base Species: Human

Subspecies: Augmented Prime

Age: 320 years in realspace

Gender: Originally male. The majority of Tech-Priests who reach any kind of seniority have long passed the point where they can reliably be assigned a gender, if such a concept even matters any more.

Faction: Imperial

(Order, Unit, or Chapter): Adeptus Mechanicus

Rank: Enginseer

Appearance: Tech-priests can usually be recognized by their clothing, which unless their work requires otherwise will usually be robes of rust-red or black colouration, and by their cybernetic nature. Tybalt is so heavily mechanized that he barely passes as human, his body a mass of technological systems. Flesh has largely been replaced with bionics, bringing him closer to the ideal of the Machine God.

Weapons: Las pistol and 1 charge pack, stasis grenades, Las Mechadendrite,

Armour: Flak vest

Misc. Equipment: Metal staff, glow lamp, data-slate, Mechanicus robes and vestments (Good Quality Clothing), spare parts (power cells, wires, chronometers etc), vial of Sacred Machine Oil, Mechanicus implants.

I'd ask that people don't double post in this thread in the future. You can instead edit what you would written in the second post into the first.
It saves space and looks cleaner.

Anyway if you need information on the setting you can go here: 40K Lexicanum, for information.

This.

Also, to AAE: Is this a solely Mechanicus RP, or are we allowed to tackle characters from other branches of the Imperium? I ask because I had a Commissar sheet I never got to use, and would like to copy-paste here.

Just one question...

The OP says this.

Career Path: [Adeptus Astartes (Space Marines, Restricted to Imperial Reavers Third Company, Tyrannic War Veterans, Deathwatch Marines, and Black Templars), Adeptus Sororitas (Sisters of Battle, Restricted to the Order of the Flaming Hearts), Adeptus Arbites (Judge Dredd style Space Cops, Being used to augment PDF forces), Imperial Guardsman (Restricted to Valhallan Ice Warriors and Cadian Storm Troopers), Tech Priests (Restricted to lower rankings such as Luminen and Enginseer, as well as Explorators and Secutors), Skitarii (Mechanicus Armed Forces, level of augmentation is being left up to player), and PDF Survivors. Yet there isn't any mention of the Inquisition or any of the three major Ordos in the Career Path section - why is that?

Cadian Storm Troopers were requisitioned by Ordo Hereticus for deployment in the system, presented as another character choice.
And Ordo Malleus isn't present in a noticeable capacity, so no Grey Knights.

The Inquisition is present but I'm not allowing players to run actual Inquisitors.

Can we at least run an Inquisitorial assistant, then? The character I wanted to fun functions best as an advisor/bodyguard, preferably to someone like an Inquisitor.

Inquisitorial assets are fine, that's one of the reasons I put an affiliations slot on the character sheet.
Considering the situation in the system, the inquisitor would be on the frontline to need a bodyguard.
And, I'd need to see the sheet before I could make a definite decision.

Name: Anhen Salarr
Base Species: Human
Subspecies: Astartes
Age: 212 (He cannot accurately remember himself though)
Gender: Male

Faction: Imperial
Career Path: Adeptus Astartes
Chapter: Deathwatch (Drawn from the Dark Angels)
Specialization: Apothecary
Rank: Apothecary
Affiliations: Inquisition (Ordo Xenos)

Appearance: 7"11, 215kg outside armor. Anhen is very rarely seen outside his Deathwatch Power Armour, which he keeps meticulously maintained. He will occasionally take his helmet off outside of combat situations, revealing greying dark hair and stubble that he seems incapable of completely getting rid of.

Weapons: Chainsword, Plasma Pistol, Frag/Krak Grenades
Armour: Power Armour
Misc. Equipment: The three key tools of an Apothecary (Diagnostor Helmet, Narthecium and Reductor). He also carries various generic medical supplies for assisting injured non-Astartes personnel.
Augmetics: All fingers have been bionically replaced, though this is not visible due to his Power Armour.

Bio: Initially from the Dark Angels chapter of Space Marines, Anhen Salarr served as Apothecary during numerous campaigns against the enemies of the Emperor. Frequently recklessly hurling himself into dangerous situations in order to preserve the gene-seed of his chapter, he was transferred to the Deathwatch after coming to the attention of an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor by gunning down gunning down an entire mob of ork boyz in order to access the bodies of a marine squad that had been ambushed.
Despite his initial distrust of the Inquisition (a trait that is not uncommon amongst his chapter), Anhen has nevertheless grown into his role amongst the Deathwatch. He has grown fascinated by the various genetic differences amongst the Space Marine chapters, though it is a secret he will take to his death.
His tour with the Deathwatch is almost finished, but Anhen has grown torn - between his duty to his chapter, and his desire to remain within the Deathwatch.
Personality: Anhen is generally quiet, preferring to silently focus on whatever task is required of him. He has developed a peculiar interest (bordering on fondness) of non-Astartes, particularly admiring the bravery of the Imperial Guard.

Let me know if this is okay, as you didn't mention what types of Astartes were allowed in the OP.

EDIT: Edited as per PM.

And boosh.

Name: Martin Cassius

Base Species: Human

Subspecies: Prime

Age: 94

Gender: Ye Olde Male

Faction: Imperial

Career Path: Ex-Commissar, currently Inquisitorial Bodyguard/Assistant

(Order, Unit, or Chapter) : Malin Odcio's Retinue

Specialization: Combat and command. His career as a commissar taught him how to lead men, but he doesn't have the mind for anything on a larger scale than a battle.

Rank: He still has a bit of clout in the Guard due to his former career, but now he just works for the Inquisition via Malin.

Affiliations: Inquisitorial Ordo Hereticus

Appearance: Martin Cassius is a man of granite. He's not a particularly large man per se, but his years as a discipline officer have honed his presence into pure menace kept in check. Being near him is like standing in front of a large dam when you aren't sure if there's a crack or not. Martin's face and shoulders sport some of the sharpest obtuse angles you've ever seen, and his form is comparable to a stone statue without a proper finish and polish.

Weapons/Armour/Misc. Equipment: Although Martin isn't a traditional commissar anymore, he still retains his attire from that time. That means a massive black greatcoat and kickass hat. Other than that, he carries the Marlefang, a tribute to his home world and their belief of the apocalypse. The Marlefang is a large, two-handed power sword styled after a flammard. Like any proper officers weapon, a lot of detail and rich craftsmanship has been invested into the weapon, rendering it both lovely art and a lethal blade. He also carries a standard bolt pistol, grenade set (frag and krak), and flak armor under his greatcoat.

Augmetics: (Implants, Cybernetics, Bionics, whatever you call it, they go here)

Bio: Martin Cassius was a typical potential Commissar at his schola. He was young, pious, and as puritan as you get. When he became an official representative of the Commissariat, not much changed. He spent a good ~45 years administering to the Guard and survived working with 21 regiments and three assassination attempts. The most significant change that occurred in his career was his introduction to Malin Odicio, though, without a doubt.

If Martin ever thought any battle would be his last, The one for Nova Cerra would have been it. The regiment Martin was attached to was waging war against the pathetic Tau Empire, and while the forces and weaponry of the Guard were greater, artillery and command foulups were without end, rendering much of the Imperial advantage moot. There was a single company left, and they lodged themselves in a bunker, sheltered from the incompetent artillery and bottlenecking the Tau attackers. Then, the Inquisitor arrived. Malin stood atop a hill, with the setting sun flaring behind him like a divine robe and halo. He led a force of Sisters in the attack and swept into the xenos with the divine force of the crashing ocean. Martin refused to deny the assistance, and he led his men out of their shelter into a glorious charge, executing those who stayed behind. After the battle, he located the Inquisitor, who had been investigating Tau corruption in the sector. Martin Cassius stood before Malin Odicio and swore his undying loyalty, having been struck by a vision after his arrival. He has served in the Inquisitor's retinue ever since, always eagerly looking for ways to serve him.

Misc: He's pretty damn Puritan.

Given my case of writer's block with regarding this character, I have decided to pull out of this RP. I hope all of those that get through (which looks to be everyone at the moment) that you have a grand old time fighting in the God Emperor's name.
