Now hold your colorful horses, this is not a typical pony thread. I was wondering when I would come across something like this, but wow.

I came across this article today and felt the need to share it. as a fan of the show, this article made me rage at the ignorance of these people.

http://www.godhatessinners.com/content.php?185-5-Reasons-Why-My-Little-Pony-Friendship-is-Magic-is-EVIL

This website is wonderful example of Poes Law. It took a while for me to conclude that these people are for real and its not exaggerated parody. Now I myself am a conservative Christian but these people surpass absurd. The website has some other....interesting stuff. I think these people are what comes to mind when a lot of you think of "conservative Christians".

Oh, and one more thing, they fully endorse WBC.

I thought that was a parody site. I've seen it before and they are always making up ludicrous claims while mocking the people like WBC who take this sort of action seriously.

Yeah, going on FSTDT [http://www.fstdt.com/QuoteArchives.aspx?Archive=1] means I can usually recognise the poes from the real thing. That is definitely a poe - pity the WBC isn't...

I hope you know they're a parody/troll site, not an official church with real members.

Well, honestly I wouldn't be surprised. But reading posts on the forums, they say its the real thing. If it is a parody site, then they're doing a real good job at it.
Here's a thread with banned members saying its the real thing, anyway.

Even if it is a parody site, its still pretty entertaining to read the flame wars in the comments

Pff. The comments in that article were the best part.

"A retarded uncle once gave me a "My Little Pony". Fortunately my father loves me and kicked the uncle out to never return and my father burned the toy.

All a girl needs is her Bible and being on her knees for Jesus!"
(In response to point 5) "Golly, I hope you aren't being serious sir? This has to be facetious? What about Lydia? She was a seller of purple cloth. Acts 16:13-15 And Priscilla the tent maker. Acts 18:2-3 Also, Tabitha, aka Dorcas who is named as a disciple! She was so important, Peter RAISED HER FROM THE DEAD.So I think there is not only a strong Biblical precedent for women being able to own business, but it's also a New testament precedent!"
"Now I have actually read the entire bible twice. It's been a while since, but I am not mistaken to believe that there was nothing in it promoting what can only be described as "Sexism".

Also, could you research the LRA? Its a group in Uganda that is promoting rebellion because their leader claims to be recieving messages from your god.

My hopes and free-thoughts go out to your sad, uncomprehending mind. "

Yeah, I'm 99% positive it's a parody. I wouldn't bother getting offended if I were you.

If nothing else, they used a picture of a G1 toy for the illustration, which is a similar tactic that another group of obvious trolls resorted to:

This is why we need street Judges.

Guilty of spreading religious hatred? Punishment by being fed feet-first into a wood-chipper. Why is it always the minorities in otherwise perfectly normal groups that have to ruin it?

Well, they may have the wrong reasons, but they have the right message.

Are you sure that this isn't a parody? Seems like one to me.
Anyway, those things that he wrote there actually made me consider watching MLP.

Because most people have a short attention span and a bad and/or boring life, so these crazy minorities are more interesting for them than the ones who are just as boring, that way they can denounce that group and feel better about themselves. Therefore the media talks more about the crazy minorities than the normal people. The result is that for the uneducated outsiders, these minorities are representative of the whole group.

Edit: Damnit, sorry about the double post. I wanted to edit my first post, the Escapist is really laggy right now.

I guess you could say they displayed...

*puts on sunglasses*

...General Ignorance?

OT: To be honest, no one's going to take this seriously. The hyperbole has blown away any meaning this had if it was serious, and if it's a parody then obviously it will be laughed off by everyone involved.

Although, it does seem like most fundamentalist Christian websites like the one in the link are parody sites. Doesn't that bother people? Sure, mock the WBC for their extreme views, but dedicating entire forums to parody threads and posts seems a little over the top.
