Yeah, yeah. The lack of a 3.5 mm jack is monumentally stupid. However, is anyone else equally fascinated that a brand new, top of the line phone in 2016 has a screen that not only uses antiquated LCD tech but also doesn't even reach the bog standard 1080p resolution?

Fuck me, if ever there were any proof that Apple products, iPhones specifically, were nothing more than fashion accessories instead of useful tech....this is it.
Well, it's brighter? Yeah I saw that and I thought, "Really? No 2K or 4K screen for a phone that cost THAT MUCH!!" No increase in resolution which is bizarre.
Why would you need more resolution on a device with a screen that size? They are still, I believe, considered "Retina" displays - meaning that at the standard viewing distance it is impossible to distinguish invidual pixels. Frankly, once you reach that point, the advantages of higher resolution are marginal at best.

Basically Fuck you Apple; This is why i have a Samsung! While any sane manufacturer would have switched over to universal ports Apple has to be different and they are powerful enough to get away with it.

I'm sure there are some Apple Fanbois who will bleat on as to why this is a good thing but they can all go eat a dick for all i care.

So this is why the like to dislike ratio on the official reveal video wasn't so great.

#BlackPhonesMatter. Apple has just create a new colour. Black.

Also, phone contracts will be so so high. The Airpods only last 5 hours? Really? And...

...Oh yeah, where is the feature on the phone where Apple will pay more in tax? No? Not included this year? Shame.

Anyone wanna bet how long it take for the people to start losing the Airpod? Ok sure on the one hand I LOTHE the earphone cable for the constant tangle up and the wire inside it breaking so easily (I keep getting new cable a few years) but I know for a fact that withou the cable, it will be easy to loose them.

LoL, they took out a feature so they could then turn around and charge morons $159 for "Airpods". That is gonna be painful to lose. I can't wait to hear people tell me how much better an iPhone 7 is than pretty much anything else.

I want to say this is a dumb idea but I can't, because people will still form huge lines outside stores and buy millions of these phones. And millions of these earphones when they lose them.

What that does mean, though: if this turns out to be a trend for Apple phones, my next phone will be an Android device.
What do you mean 'turns out to be a trend' it already IS a trend, the 30 pin connector introduced four maybe five gens ago the lightning connector introduced 2 or 3 gens back, connectors that no other hardware maker uses and Apple have solidly stuck too despite nearly ever one else going to micro and mini USB.

Huh? I use their iMatch service that lets you download any music you buy in .m4a format. Not sure if there isn't a catch there anywhere - apart from having to pay annually for the convenience - but that is definitely an option.

They could just change the advertising slogan to "The new iPhone: You'll buy it, because we're Apple."

Even more baffling, the ultra-expensive 7 Plus only hits 1080.

It's like Apple is purposefully keeping their latest devices antiquated. I've heard of planned obsolescence, but this is just taking the piss.

Well its their model. Make them, with cheap labour, and sell them expensive. The people will still by them. I just dont feel sorry for people who incur debt because of it.

Phone contracts will be an expensive joke.

I'm used to their stuff being stupidly expensive, but nearly $1000 for the top model? Holy fuck, guys. At this rate in a couple of years it'll be cheaper to buy a phone made of solid gold.

And people will still buy the damn things. I just...I, why? Meanwhile, the excellent little windows phone is pretty much on its last legs.

You monsters!
Poor bastard, he's only been around for decades helping us out with everything. I mean yeah, he was kind of fat at first but once he slimmed down he was everywhere.

They simply found new tricks to sell accessories to people who always want to buy their new models despite its excessive prices. And they would be wrong to deprive themselves if I judge by the crowds that we have seen hurry to buy it....
