Yeah, I mean, when a game hits the App Store called "Baby Shake" of course it's going to be overlooked, who could possibly think that game would be inappropriate?JediMB said:As much as I dislike Apple, I really can't blame them for this. No, but in Apple's case, he's absolutely right. You want an example of a major company that's not the devil? Google. Look at how much power they can wield and yet they haven't done ANYTHING amoral or anti-competitive.HentMas said:wathever, i´m not going to fall for this "all mayor companyes are the DEVIL!!" thats just... not looking at reality.
Other than that whole thing where they harvested users WIFI information while doing their street view drivebys.TPiddy said:No, but in Apple's case, he's absolutely right. When you deal with them you deal with the devil. Like dealing with Activision, you need to decide if the money on the table is worth the cost in hassle, morale, and self-respect.
Ummm. Wolfire have already taken someone to task over performing a DDOS (see comment thread over at Wolfire's blog). Ultimately, probably not a helpful thing to do at this stage. Revenge sounds like fun, but it's important to respect Wolfire's position here, IMO. (At this stage DOSing/attacking iCoder could damage Wolfire's reputation by association.)s_glasgow99 said:These guys need to be brought down a peg. If anyone from 4CHAN is reading this, iCODER is your new target. Make these guys wish they never wrote a line of code ever.
Yes, but what have they done with that information? And they have fully complied with people who opt out of street view.mistwolf said:Other than that whole thing where they harvested users WIFI information while doing their street view drivebys.TPiddy said:No, but in Apple's case, he's absolutely right. But that was only a LITTLE evil!
Yes and no. No Apple should not be the primary targets for abuse here but the system they have set up with the appstore does leave them with some responsibility. If this was an open system Apple could easily wash its hands of the whole issue and leave it at that however by making all apps require approval before they are posted there is an implied approval of the content of the app. If Apple wants to have a closed system with all of the associated advantages thats fine but there must be some acknowledgement that doing so creates a certain amount of liability that would not otherwise exist.JediMB said:As much as I dislike Apple, I really can't blame them for this.
