Apple iPlay?

Recently, IGN posted an article about their speculation of an Apple game console. They predicted that this completely imaginary console would extend the iPhone's App Store to the Apple TV and allow people to download games to their TV. I think this would be an extremely logical step for Apple to take that would be build upon their existing software. What do you all think?

I don't think there's anything Apple could do in the console gaming sector that its well established competition couldn't do better.

That's not a crack at Apple. I just don't see how they could differentiate themselves from their competition in that market.

With how Apple does things, it would most likely be like a more extreme version of Nintendo where only games by Apple and a very few third party games would be available.
