I know its not a well know series, but i really wanted to know your opinions on the story, characters and other things about the game.

Personally i love the games and the huge mythology in the series.
I wish more people would play them because they really are missing some great rpgs.

I found Ar Tonelico 2 at the store the other day. It had been there a while and I may get it.

However I am confused. Which Tonelicos are tactics and which are turn-based? Isn't there a whole series connected to Ar Tonelico with a different name that's all tactics play?

All I know is that 1) my mom loved it, and 2) there is a hilarious video on YouTube where some of its dialogue is taken out of context, and it sounds SO bad.

I hated everything about it. The characters were annoying. The girl (whatever thier names are) overpowered the battles. It was so linear and small. I couldn't touch the sequel.

I have a friend who bought this a few days ago, and from what I watched him play (not much, since 13 came out not much later) it looks quite good.
And it's NipponIchi, they've never lead me wrong.

To be fair it was only published by NISs American branch. It was produced by a different company, like gust or some such.

But anyways on to my opinion. I like the game a lot. though it's game singular sense I haven't played any of the others in the series. The battle mechanics are unique and fun to play. I also like gusts other series Atiler Iris, though I've only ever played one of that series either.

That being said it dose go heavy on the innuendo and how all the possible "love interest" are to one degree or another moe (if you don't know what that means it's probably better that way). These are both because as well as being an RPG Ar Tonelico is also part dating sim, and those games tend to have both those problems described above.
