Thanks for the comments everyone. I agree that this is a project just about anybody can do. I hadn't thought about offering instructions as the base cabinet is based on one I found at "Oscar controls" website called the "Gotham". I lengthened the base, changed out the 3/4" cabinet grade plywood for 1/2" (the 1/4" trim still gives you the appearance of 3/4" on the edges) and played a bit with the shape of the control panel and width.
As for my use of the X-Arcade...I started out being rather apologetic-but have moved the other direction. X-Arcade is a good product with a great warranty. Could I have disguised it better...you bet. I could have incorporated it in the cabinet with more finesse.
I grok that for hardcore builders the electronics are the important part...Ohm is where the art is (so to speak).
I only regret that in my haste to take pictures, I didn't clean up my shop. Had I known these were going to get much further than my own blog, I would have cleaned up.
