Arcade or slim?

Now my original 360 just went dead, I'm not getting it fixed again, I need to know if I can put my Hardrive into an Xbox 360 arcade. And if I cant do that, can I do it with a 360 slim, and if not, how do I transfer my files, specificly, my Mass Effect 2 saves from my hardrive to a slim? Also, in the slim, is there a port for a wired connection because my router is stubborn when it comes to wireless.

Yes you can put one in an arcade.

No you can't put one in a slim it comes with a built in 250GB one.

If you can't get hold of a data transfer kit. Best thing to do is use a USB stick with at least 2GB, format it and keep moving your stuff across.

I have no idea about wired... I assume there is an option yes.

Well I tried from a premium to a slim and my HDD died a death . Depending on price the slim is much better than an arcade but transferring data can be a problem (And you need a transfer kit)

I'd, personally, get the slim. Way more space, quieter, built-in Wireless N (For when you get a not-so stubborn router). All you need is a 2 GB flash drive to transfer the important stuff over, and you're good to go.

I transfered my data from a 20 to a 60 using a memory card that came with the arcade (pre USB days) and had no problems whatsoever (other than the time it took to transfer the data). The trick is to have your profile on the USB or Mem card.
