Are action figures cool?

There are probably a few people here who do own action figures or memorabilia of some kind; maybe you got something with a collectors edition that's sitting on your desk collecting dust right now or maybe you're an avid collector of memorabilia and have a statuette of every character in Dead Or Alive: Extreme Beach Volleyball (hey chill out, I'm not judging you) or maybe you just think the whole concept is immature and stupid.

Either way I'd like to know if collecting props, statuettes, maquettes, action figures and replicas from games, anime, comic books or movies is "cool" in your opinion. I've seen more than enough interviews with game designers and photos of their desks to know that action figures are cool with them since their desks are literally covered in them.

Mine is decorated with a few from Bioshock, Ninja Gaiden, Dead Or Alive, Bayonetta, Star Wars, Alien, Predator, Terminator, Emily The Strange, Fallout 3 and some random things I picked up in London. For me it's the best way to customize your workspace and office and really make it "yours" (maybe it's a "guy thing"), but that's just me; what do you think?

I still love my transformers and I still play with my 80's Optimus Prime. I'd like to collect some other gaming figures, but they're too expensive.

I don't think of things in terms of "cool" or not. What someone likes is their business, and I won't judge them because of it.

I don't play/collect action figures, but I did when I was younger. They were fun to play with then, but I lost interest.

I collect a few figure statues and stuff, or models I put together (Gundam and other anime stuff), but I dunno. There's the crowds that will appreciate the details and so on, and there's plenty of people that think it's stupid.

You just need to keep a balance of not getting too many, or getting too into buying them. It just gets weird and creepy when people don't know the cut-off point.
