Ok, so recently, I got Fallout 3 from a recommendation from a friend, and cause I got a new laptop I could finally play it, and I'm loving it! =D

I'm trying not to do that much of the main quest yet (cause I heard its short) and I've just been enjoying myself exploring around and finding other little quests to do...and I'm just wondering now if I should get the expansions..or I dunno what they are...

So basically my questions are:
What exactly are they? Are they seperate campaign like things? Expansions? Little story pockets?
And are they worth getting?

They are add-ons to story and some are side missions. Thay all give new perks, weapons, and sometimes abilities (the bullet press in The Pitt)
I like the add-ons but you should wait till about level 15 and then get one of them with Broken Steel and if you want more, go get-um tiger!

There are five add ons.

The ones you want to get are Point Lookout, Broken Steel, and maybe the Pitt.

I'd say they are all definately worth it. They all extend the gameplay by many hours, the main one to get would be Broken Steel, whilst possibly being the shortest, I'd say it's the most important one to get.

These ones first. In order, I'd say to get Broken Steel first, ti increase game life, then to get both Point Lookout and then The Pitt. Then Operation Anchorage and Mothership Zeta last.

If you really enjoy the game, they're all worth it. If you only want the best, get Point Lookout and Broken Steel.

#1 Point Lookout
#2 Broken Steel
#3 Operation Anchorage
#4 The Pitt
#5 Mothership Zeta

Best to worst.

Yes. Oooh yes. They're really, really worth it! I only have the Point Lookout/Broken Steel dual pack, but next time I get any disposable income, it's going on The Pitt/Operation Anchorage. Between the new kit, stories, locations and perks, they all massively extend the lifespan of an already long-lived game.

Broken steel not only adds missions and lets you move past the end of the game, it ups the level cap to thirty. Broken steel is definatly worth is. Then my next choice would be point lookout. It adds an entirely new fully explorable area with new quests guns and enimies. That would be a close second. Then follows the Pitt which i personly liked, but that might be because I'm from Pittsburgh and was determined to like it. It was good, just not as good as Broken Steel and Point Lookout. the other two, Ancorage, and mothership zeta, i wouldn't bother with. they're not to great.

I agree with this. Get Point Lookout and Broken Steel if you want OP, but don't bother with the rest. There are plenty of mods that will provide you with much more questing for free.
