I think this is a question that warrants some consideration. I personally think they started to get better in the early to mid 2000's, with games like EA's Lord of the Rings titles and the Chronicles of Riddick game...which I never played, but heard was quite good.

I honestly can't say, as I haven't played many current gen games at length, being without a current gen console. *tear*

As such, I'd like to see what y'all Escapists have to say about it. Are they getting better, are they worse, or are they just as bad as they've always been?

Let me dive into my collection. I oddly have a lot of them...

King Kong - A hidden gem. A very tense first person action adventure.
Wolverine Uncaged - Good fun actually, a bit repetitive.
SAW - A midly scary but good representation of the film it is derived from.
Wanted: WOF - A little iffy in spots. Very short as you can speedrun it in under 2 hours.
Terminator: Salvation - Standard Gears of War clone. Challenging but short.
LEGO Games - Well they're good.

I reckon they've gotten better. I think its because the developers have somewhat realised that yes, this will sell millions to tie in the film, but we might as well make it decent while we're at it.

I'd say no.You'll get the occasional good one but the majority of them are still mediocre at best probably due to being rushed out to coincide with the movie release. That's the way it's been as long as I've been gaming and I don't see it changing anytime soon

Not really, no.

Theres good ones, theres bad ones, but the good to bad ratio hasn't changed much, if at all.

Football games are getting better

But in terms of movie tie ins, you'll have to go along way to beat the LOTR games by EA

Some are good, some are bad. I wouldn't say the ratio has changed though.

During the SNES/PS1 eras we had Disney making awesome games. This gen we have Lego making awesome games :D
