I haven't seen him, but I imagine there might be some Yeti of sorts in the woods up north. Also in this time of the year the Chupacabra migrates here, to mate.

Edit: Forgot about the Baba Jaga.

I live in the state with the Blair Witch.
The Blair Witch was a work of fiction, please don't tell me people really believe in it.
Of course I don't believe in that, but still, that's a monster that's popular in the state.
A monster that people know came from a movie, that's madness.
No, that's Sparta *Kicks him into the Bottomless Pit* (Sorry, You left yourself wide open for that).

I currently live in the Panhandle of Texas. Also known as "that part of Texas where people who do the sorts of things that make you shake your head" live. To narrow it down, there is currently a billboard in my fair city that welcomes home a "hero", who recently made the news when he (and a group of like minded compatriots) tried to kidnap a few kids from Haiti. We certainly have legendary creatures. Democrats for example are a mythical beast feared by my neighbors though none can claim to have seen one in person. We also have a jack-a-lope, a cross between a jack-rabbit (Similar to the English Hare - basically a large lanky rabbit) and an antelope. In other words, an unusually large rabbit with antlers.

Hah, no worries there. Old-school Cumbrian vampires kick whiny-emo-Hollywood-vampire ass.

I think sasquatch lives in Alberta sometimes.

The most common mythical creature here, though, is the intelligent politician. I've yet to encounter one, though, so I doubt they exist. I hear there are herds of them wandering the plains of Sweden.

The Jersey Devil lives in my state, but I'm up north so I'm pretty safe. In New Jersey, we have no shortage of weird stuff.

Well, living in a remote city somewhere in England there is'nt much to talk about... Apart from the site of witch burnings round the corner, the various ritualistic pagan sites littered around the area... Oh, and i think there were a few ghost sightings in my old house...

As much I'm trying to think about something around my area, even 2 areas in a way (childhood and current student apartment), I can't really think about anything like that. Nothing that's been lurking and no one really knows what it is either, if something have been lurking to begin with. Even less 'legend' or 'myth' world famous like thing. The alternative might also be I'm so used to it it don't come to my mind at all as something strange. There is that hunted village higher north then my hometown. It's basically an entire ghost town, on a more or less island where apparently pictures of ghosts has been took at night, or suspiciously found on the spot depicting really strange behavior that no sane person would consider taking picture of, be it in houses or while people where getting the heck out of this place due to creepy meter getting pass it's limit. Never been there myself, never really intend to. Hi there, you who is reading.

I live in Texas so every so often they find a coyote with a severe case of mange and suddenly the news is all about El Chupacabra! I still can't believe this makes the news let alone has made it on the news 3 times in the last couple of years.

The Silver Haunt, which lives in the old artworks factory up the street from me,It sits in a window unresponsive, near where a Silver Paintcan was left boiling to clean it out. Started a fire killing the director. I.E. a ghost is seen in her old office, which is now a windowed canvas drawing room.

Well, there is a Big K-Mart on the other side of town...

Oh, wait, you meant "biological creatures," didn't you? Yeah, no, nothing in Florida. The only thing worth mentioning will drown you and eat your slowly rotting carcass, if it doesn't separate you from one of your precious limbs. If only alligators were a mythical creature...
