Are there any "Paladins" in Tolkien's Middle-Earth lore?

Can't think of anyone who would count. Well, unless we go loosely with the heroic sacrifice after temptation thing as indicative of it, then everyone's favorite pincushion may count. He did use a shield too...

But looking at it, doesn't look like anyone rolled a Pally for the fellowship campaign. halflings, but not a single pally or even a cleric. Party musta been trying to troll the GM with that one.

Maybe some of the more powerful elves such as Gil-galad or Glorfindel could be classified as Paladins, being strong fighters with the ability to ward of evil and other magical feats.

I don't think there can be paladins without some holy order for them to belong to. An order dedicated to an ideal rather than a nation. I never got the impression that such an order existed in Middle Earth.
