Useless to what? Nothing is useful objectively.

If I were to answer your question, the first thing that comes into my mind would be the Methane Worm....then the French. (I'm joking for all you French people out there).

Animals don't intentionally serve a purpose to other species... All they do intentionally is survive and breed to continue there own species...

However... sometimes two different species adapt to live together for the benifit of both species (And that is known as symbiosis, FYI). This is still just an attempt to get each species ahead...

And there are many types of animals who do not have any use to other tpye of animals if thats really what you mean

Oh and,

I think the word you're looking for is fertilise or pollinate.

No. No we are not.
Useful to each other.

I'm not sure if there are any useless animals.

But believe me when I say that in nature pretty much every animal contributes to the ecosystem in some way.

Remove one animal and it fucks up the whole system in some way.

However, I would sleep easier at night if I knew ninos de la tierra (Potato bugs for non-mexicans and spanish speakers) were extinct *shudders* hate them.

WARNING: DO NOT GOOGLE THEM IF YOU ARE INTIMIDATED BY BUGS.
Wait, do you mean those tiny land-based crustaceans affectionately called pill-bugs, or roly-polies?

Or do you mean those big undersea ones that look like this?

The Giant Isopod.

Lice, tapeworms, crabs
By crabs, do you mean the sexually transmitted kind? Those are also a type of lice...

Now, if you mean the kind that have shells and claws... Why are they useless?

The word you are looking for is "pollenate"

Thechnically this, but seeing as life itself is a use, as it is all we know, all animals serve to keep the ecosystem intact. Wasps, to use your example, help to avoid overpopulation, and are in fact also eaten by quite a few things, so are useful ther eas well.

Y'know, the idea of not being remembered never really bugged me. And you do know the OP is using the word "useful" in the sense of Earth's ecosystem and not in a cosmic sense, right?

I don't think there are USELESS animals...

Animals I could do without, yes, like the aforementioned bugs.

God, I hate bugs. Even ladybugs and butterflies. They're just disgusting. ><!

Besides, i'm rather certain the TC was talking in the perspective of short-term consequences rather than the timescale you're imagining.

Any kind of parasite, really, but the one animal I could really, really do without is the tick.
Unless it's the cartoon character, of course.
