For me its hard to say, ive got a cat and a dog (or should I say a puppy)i love them both but i think im a cat person purely because im lazy and looking after a cat is as easy as making sure theres food out, letting it out when it wants out, and giving it a hug every now and then whereas with a dog youve got to toilet train it, keep it in line with aggression/dominance issues, make sure you walk it, and im sure this isnt true of all dogs bareing in mind this is my first dog and im still in the puppy stage but he can be a bit annoying, clingy and getting into things he shouldnt but i do love him to death.

I like both, but if I had to choose one pet for the rest of my life, it's likely i would choose the dog

Both. I have two cats while my girlfriend has a dog, and all three are awesome. My sister has cats and my cousins have dogs.

I'm both. I love cats and dogs.

However, due to my residence, it's cats for me.
In fact I have a newborn kitten on my lap right now...
It's quite loud o_O

I think I'm more of a cat person. I think I would be able to handle a cat easier compare to a dog.

I'm a dog person.

Cats are furry hate and the single greatest threat to mankind currently in existence. Dogs are loyal and friendly.

Because the Feline and Canine genomes are inherantly incompatiable.

I have a cat. My girlfriend has two dogs. I love my cat, but he's no dog. Dogs are loyal. Cats only come to you when THEY want something.

Dogs are ok but they smell really bad and are a lot of effort to look after compared to a cat:
Cats don't really need anything -- if you don't feed it, it will find and kill its own food, it gives itself exercise, it comes instinctively toilet trained. Cats are pretty much self sufficient.

I'm more of a cat person. Dogs annoy me, always jumping and...drooling all over the place. At least cats are clean.

Cat person!

Who can look at this picture and still not love this adorable ball of fur?

Also, dogs have this "dog smell" and I'm not a fan of that.
Don't get me wrong, I don't "hate" dogs or anything.

Thought I was a dog person, but then I got a cat. She's awesome!

Not my actual cat, but she looks just the same;

This is now a Ragdoll thread.

I like both a lot...
I think if I'd have to chose I'd go with a cat, if I become a cop (my plan) and they ask me I could train a dog for sure (I love animals).
But my pet of choise is rats, rats are pure awesomeoness!

I like dogs, I love cats.

I feel like I can relate more to cats, if I'm going to be that deep. They mind their own business, can handle themselves mostly and are lazy. Fits me just right.

Also, they look lovely, all of them.
