But the creator is such a gigantic egotisitcal shitcunt i can't bring myself to buy it, i don't want any of my money going to a man that behaves like the biggest scrotal wart i have had the displeasure of hearing.
Could you please elaborate on that with links or information?

And I don't even mean that in a smartass way, I'm just kinda wasted right now but what you've said sounds quite interesting so I'd like to have the info available for me in the morning without having to hunt for it while hungover.

But really, I've heard only good things about Fez, what did the creator say/do?

No, not really. Yeah I don't always agree with the business practices of some companies, but to me, boycotting is just glorified pouting.

Total boycott: GAME, mainly for the pre order fiasco after they promised all pre orders where safe.

Simply don't buy: anything by Apple or Ubisoft

I agree with babinro. The kind of people behind the company selling the products don't have any effect on the products themselves. Why deny yourself the products over something so arbitrary?
Because you don't want to support a practice you find deplorable.

It's the reason some people like to buy free-range chicken and crap. The end product's the same, but they just don't want to support the animal cruelty of slaughterhouses. Because by buying the products of those slaughtered animals, you'd be telling the people running them "I'm totally fine with it, keep on stuffing and cutting".

Note that I'm totally not a free-range chicken buyer. What I don't support is EA's and Blizzard's various business and game practices. They wont get any of my money, no matter how good Starcraft 2 or Battlefield 3 looks to me.

Blizzard, it started when they decided they wanted to fuck us in the ass over a game people had been waiting over a decade for: SC II.

Realy? "We couldn't fit everything we wanted to do on one disc, so we're breaking it into 3 parts." What ever happened to the concept of a multi-disc game? Would it have been that hard if you REALLY wanted to make the game that big? Or were you just wanting to make us pay 3 times what we normally would...

Blizzard, sort of? Right now, I'm not purchasing any of their products for a number of reasons, but I still check sites like mmo-champion to see what's going on. I also don't try to convince my friends to not buy anything from them. I just refuse to give them any more of my own money.

Simply put, McDonald's.

Partly because their food is terrible, but mostly because I used to work at a McDonald's, and it's EASILY the worst job I've ever had.

Frankly, the state of the kitchen in your average McDonald's is disgusting. I worked on the grill, and there were times where I've actually seen cockroaches crawling on it, and my superior just told me to scrap them off, and keep using the grill. Without cleaning it.

And I've got a story from there involving a dildo that's both hilarious and disturbing. Plus I've heard stories about people having sex on the condiment cart.

So, yeah, no more McDonald's for me. Also, by extension, I don't do Burger King, since they're basically the same thing.
Wow. Gives whole new meaning to the phrase "I'm lovin' it!"

On-topic, the only companies I refuse to pay anymore are Capcom and Activision. I have no Capcom games, and the only Activision game I have, I only own because it would barely get me anything to trade it in.

I don't see the point personally....if I want somthing I'l have it

and what have Paypal done? :/
Paypal caved into political pressure and froze all donations and transactions to Wikileaks, but continue doing business for the Ku Klux Klan, American Nazi Party, NAMBLA, Westboro Baptist Church and other less noble causes.

Also they delete accounts for no reason and their customer service is a nightmare.

I boycott Bayer AG. The history behind that company is so horrific, you'd think it was a fictional corporation from a horror, action, or thriller movie or if someone copied and pasted the history of Umbrella.

You want to know about them? Google the company.

It doesn't affect me that much, since generic aspirin is much cheaper, and Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen give me less side effects.

Yes, I am. I don't think I have any particular boycotting for companies because of THEM, per se. I hate EA, but like...I have CNC 3. It's gotta be personal hangups. Here's the list of shit I can think up right now.

X-Box and Wii - It's nothing personal. It's just that in the longstanding amount of games and gaming that I've done, the current things I devote money to are Playstation and PC on account of my sweet laptop. I have a backlog of games as is, so that tells me BESIDES the limitation of funds that I should not go after another major console. I've given some effort towards winning one in competitions, 'cause I'm open-minded, but I ain't buying, even though Skies of Arcadia for Gamecube's calling.

Facebook - And other social networks. These things, I see 'em and then I look at forums where I can also express myself or instant messanger, and I do it at a higher uality and more efficiently...and then I look at Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, and so on. Uhhh...why exactly should I give two shits? I've already got IMs, forums, email, and A PHONE. Speaking of which...

Cellphones - Okay, it's brilliant technology based upon STAR TREK and already surpassing them. The 23rd century has been overtaken. Cellphones are marvelous pieces of equipment. I do not, at this time, have a real use for one. In no way have I really ever needed to be reached or need to reach anyone that badly. Needing to reach someone badly would BE the only reason, and I can't justify it personally in my expenses. Also, wonderful machines, but many terrible owners. If my girlfriend wanted to talk to me on one, that might be the good reason, but she and I don't call each other up, so no luck there either. Also, I think texting is silly sometimes.

Angry Birds - I might be a little jaded here, but lemme get this straight. A man has developed a little rinky-dinky flash game that's a bit too similar to games I can find on like Newgrounds and such, and he's made so much money off of it that there's a theme park? No. No no no, I am not getting into this. You're asking me to get into a phenomenon that I can find on the internet for FREE. LEGALLY FREE, with no catches! Hell no!

Pokemon: No!

I am currently boycotting GAME for the simple fact that they overcharged me for a game. I wasn't going to argue over a couple of quid, but it just means that I'll never use them again, I buy from everyone else but them.

Also refusing to talk to Lloyds bank, for the fact they are charging me £5 (to go up to £6) should I dare to go into my overdraft. It takes the piss just a little bit as they had a tax payer bailout a couple of years ago so it kinda feels like I'm paying for this banks survival twice.
So what, you expect them to give you the product you requested and agreed to, for free? Just don't use it if it worries you that much. If you need it, then you need to agree to their terms. that simple.

Not really, I just refuse to play games in a series if they do what Cod does (Releasing games in under one year each, really shows that they aren't putting the effort into each individual game)
That's games like Cod, Assassins Creed (Although I may be getting no. 3) etc.

And the TSA is at every airport.
TSA only regulates flights coming in and out of the US. That's why there's so much fuss about the TSA being in London right now for the Olympics.

OT: I wouldn't say I boycott anything because to boycott something implies much much MUCH more serious implications than a simple consumer complaint. As far as gaming goes, though, I can't think of a single Triple A title that I would pay full price for. I either get it used or do without. If developers and publishers want me to buy new, then they need to stop charging so much for their crappy products.

I boycott Budweiser because I met a couple of the people who owned the company once, and they were tremendous douches, so I do my best not to give that family a cent of my money, no matter how indirectly it might reach them. It doesn't hurt my cause that their beer is awful. When I drink beer, I will pay for the better stuff 9 times out of 10, but if I have to drink shitty beer, then I will choose a shitty beer that isn't Budweiser. Even Natty Light.

I had problems with them as well they would sign me on for gold and not refund my money even on the day of. So I managed to find out how to unsubscribe and they did the same damn thing again the very next year I had to argue through 3 people just get get a refund on the stupid service. I am never making that mistake again no matter how good the deal is.
Amen brother.

The thing is it's not really isolated, these cases. It happens with scary frequency and to many people. I include children who rack up thousands of pounds/dollars of expenses on their parents cards in this. Microsoft don't want to issue refunds, but they're quite happy to get your credit card details and make it easy for you to spend on it, then make it as hard as you and I have experienced in trying to un-register it and close to impossible to get a refund.

It happens often enough and to enough people that it's very fair to say that XBox Live is a very flawed system and Microsoft's business practises are highly questionable (as though that even needs spelling out!). The only reason this woman [http://www.hackedonxbox.com/microsoft/] got a refund is because she made sure everyone knew about what happened to her and that MS were quite literally taking food away from her child.

Anyone who uses XBL, serious advice: Don't buy points via your console or the XBL web site, or use any PayPal/Credit card with the service, ever. If you must buy points, buy the one time use cards from a retailer.

MS are fools though for their policy on such things. If they'd refunded me and I still used the service for the last 18 months I'd have probably spent more than the £150 pounds stolen from me. Now though they've lost four XBL customers forever.

Facebook and Zynga. One moment I want to pat Facebook on the back for bringing the world online and together more-so than any other company, then the next moment I want wipe every digital inch of it from existance. Zynga are just plainly disrespectful to gaming. They give me the vibe that they care more for the money they make than their own friends or family, let alone actually making games people can enjoy - the management anyway, not the developers.

I would say Activision too, but since I started their "boycott" they've not made any games I've cared to buy over the past few years.

I don't boycott, because it requires me to think and make a mental map of which company made what, and that's way too much hassle for me. I just buy what I like and leave the politics out of it.

I've never bought anything from Apple, and never will unless they change there business plan of how closed off their products are, and how they view charity as the worst thing in the universe.
