Are you: Casual Hardcore.

Now this is something as I'm getting older and getting more responsibility I've been thinking a lot about, as it becomes harder and harder to invest 30+ hours a week into gaming especially as someone who plays a lot of MMO's, I want to know how the Escapist feels about what I call: The Casual Hardcore.

What I mean by Casual Hardcore, are players who know the game, know their build and play it well, always participate in short raids and PvP skirmishes, but isn't necessarily for myriad reasons on-line as often as other guild mates.

Are you one such player? do you know any? if you were/are a guild master would you accept a good player who can only give you 2-3 hours a night 4-5 nights a week? Or do you think in more competitive MMO's such players are a liability?

I don't see them as a liability. On one side, Those players are often more serious than everyone else BECAUSE they have so little time. They usually know their shit and are no nonsense when it comes to the game. Which means that while they are an incredible asset to have when they are on , also mean hat have terribly low patience for newbs and lolligagging. Which is understandable because they don't have too much time to goof around. That's what i would call ( i never call anyone that) casually hardcore, and those guys i respect.

Now on the other side, there are players who don't have much time to play and learn the game, but want to participate often not knowing what they are doing because they can't invest the time needed. These guys need to find a game suitable for them, because often these are the ones that hinder ( unintentionally) everyone else. It's not that no one wants to help them, they just don't have the time, and use it to faff around. I gues these are casually casual?

Anyways , mutiplayers games have tons of people, so you can find whatever you are looking for, especially in MMOs. It's one of the stregths of the genre.

I don't really play MMO's, but I would call myself casual hardcore. Which means that I'll happily play casual games, like CoD, Angry Birds, 2048, etc. However I also love Dark Souls, Super Meat Boy, Super Hexagon, etc. I guess this was a little off topic, but I thought this was what the topic was going to be.

However, it some multiplayer games with clans, I was like that person. I would go to the raids and such, but not all the other stuff. There were a lot of inactive members, so I tried to stay as active as possible.
