Are you currently backing any Kickstarter projects?

And if so, which ones?

I've been on kind of a Kickstarter...er...well...kick lately, funding a few projects here and there. It's nice to be able to help out those who are aspiring to get a project out there.

One that I'm happy to say just got funded (and met almost all its stretch goals) is a kaiju card game called Rarrr!!! so I dunno when that's supposed to be out, but I'm excited for it.

A few less than successful projects I've backed are the Untitled Web Series About a Space Traveler Who Can Also Travel Through Time, which has unfortunately failed to meet funding for its second season twice now (which kinda surprises me. With all the Community and Doctor Who fans on the net I really thought it had more of a fighting chance)

And one going on right now called Big Angry Monsters. It's this really cool looking Kaiju board game (and has pretty awesome artwork on their monsters. I freakin' love Kaipora and Pollo Mutado) but it doesn't seem like funding is going too smoothly on that one :/ whenever I check on it, I see how far away they are, and worse is it seems like it's losing backers.

Which is something I find very weird. Does anyone else (I mean I'm sure some people do, giant world and all) feel kinda like a kickstarters failure is your failure? I feel bad when a project I'm invested in doesn't make it, y'know?

Sorry, kinda got on a tangent. So what are some of the projects you all are invested in?

Ones that are still active?

I'm currently ponying up for The Mandate, because Tsarist Russia in SPACE! is an interesting concept and the shear amount of lore that's going into the project is amazing. They've also got a basic ship builder and an Alpha of the character creator up on their website.

The second is Paradise Lost: First Contact, as I find the concept to be different.

Of course that's just the Kickstarters still active, I've got over 50 at various stages of completion. My current favourite is Grim Dawn which is now available via Steam Early access.

I donated $120 to Shroud of the Avatar a few months ago. The game is still in development, so I guess it counts. Honestly, just seeing the interviews Spoony did with Richard Garriot has been worth the money so far.

In order, the kickstarters I've backed and the amounts I backed them for:

FTL - A little
Project Eternity - A lot
Planescape - Moderate
Skullgirls - A little
The Mandate (ongoing) - A whole lot

No regrets so far.

Nope. Never kicked a starter before. I doubt I will anytime soon. Not my thing. It's fun to look at some of the projects though.

I've got two still funding, and 165 overall. 21 of those failed, and 45 have fulfilled the pledges to satisfaction. Currently funding are Interstelleria [http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/coldricegames/interstellaria] and Orbitkey [http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1912797983/orbitkey-love-your-keys].

I've cut back a lot of my Starting Kicks.

I believe the Newgrounds documentary project is still working, so yes.

I got in on Shantae: ½ Genie Hero a while back. That's the only one so far. I'd backed Shroud of the Avatar too if there weren't a few dozen other more important things I had to spend money on that month!

I've donated money to the movie Dude Bro Party Massacre III; it's from the 5-Second Films crew.

I've also bought War for the Overworld on Steam, which is in alpha, so technically I've also backed that (they DO have a kickstarter however).

I've only kicked $10 into a couple of them, since I tend to be quite wary of the whole 'no obligation to deliver anything' deal that is necessitated by that kind of a transaction.

The two I have kickstarted are The Banner Saga and Unrest. I'm definitely more confident in The Banner Saga, but Unrest just looked too interesting and unique to pass up.

Non-video game wise I backed Unsounded [www.unsoundedcomic.com] which was basically a preorder of their first book, because Unsounded is one of the most beautiful and well-written webcomics I know and the first one where I actually wanted to own a physical copy.

Loading Ready Run's Last Season (only a small amount of money though)

And Doraleus and Associates which is apparently under production. I liked the series and I at least want some kind of ending.

Videogame wise

I've backed
Wasteland 2
Project Eternity
Torment: Tides of Numeria

(yes I like Chris Avellone)

and Dreamfall: Chapters, which I backed before I'd played the other games because I wanted games like this to exist, but since then I've played the other two and Dreamfall: The Longest Journey has made me so excited for this game.

Unrest [www.kickstarter.com/projects/pyrodactyl/unrest-an-unconventional-rpg-set-in-ancient-india], an RPG set in India, focused on characters and dialogue and written by a member of Spoiler Warning

Project Phoenix. I gave them a pound because they already had all the money they needed but I want to follow their updates and keep track of the game.

Finally The Long Dark.

Beyond that I'm also currently pledging
Bloom: Memories
The Mandate
Dyscourse
Windforge

all RPGs of various types. I'm most excited about the Mandate but I'd like to give the other projects a chance. I tend to back roughly for a copy of the game, I don't really enjoy the thought of Kickstarter as a charity thing, because there are people in the world who need that money a lot more and I kind of disapprove of larger backer rewards. In some ways I don't even think developers should be asking for so much commitment from people

And then last and least, I backed AmbrovX but it didn't meet it's target and my money didn't get processed
