I actually have 2 dual analog controller for the psx that I still use to this day for ps2. First one I bought, still working to this day. Dyou know how hard it is to find working controllers in my hometown without resorting to going online?

Now that you mention it, I'm thinking quite hard on wich controller I was more attached to. Personally, I liked the N64 controller, simply because it was the wierdest at the time and I just couldn't look the same way the DualShock as I did with the N64 controller.

And after that, I'm quite jealous with my GameCube Wavebird. I mean, I take care of it with my own life, I don't even let my sister touch it, or anyone else for that matter, it's just too precious for me. And quite rare too, good luck trying to find one of those these days.

The 360 controller is going the same way as those controllers, as IMO, it's the most comfortable controller that this generation has to offer.
And it works like a charm on my PC =)

The only controller I have ever been attached to was a Third Party controller for my N64, which had a clear plastic casing so you could see the circuit board. Being made of acrylic plastic, it was horrible to hold and it wasn't even properly moulded and put together (the company justified the shoddy craftsmanship by saying it was "ergonomically designed". Ergonomic my foot, the thing was painful to hold). The buttons were sticky, the rapidfire buttons didn't actually work, and the stick became loose far faster than my other N64 controllers.

BUT IT WAS CLEAR! To my 10 year old brain, that made it the BEST controller.

Apart from that, not really. Controllers are just controllers. As I grow older, I don't even care about consoles anymore - I see my PS3, my Wii and my 360 as just lumps of hardware. I see my PC has just a bunch of hardware. I am attached to certain games, but I have no attachment to moulded bits of plastic with circuitry in them. Consoles, controllers, graphics cards and mice - they're just tools to an end: gaming. As long as they do the job (and they don't always, but most of the time they work), then that's all I care about.

I do like consoles, but I'm not attached to a SPECIFIC console. If my PS3 or my 360 ever die, I wouldn't feel sad. I'd feel angry about having to buy a new one, but your console is just one of millions of identical consoles.

I also can't understand why people get attached to Cars. Or even houses. The only things I'm emotionally attached to are people and living things. I don't even really care about my house on an emotional level - sure I care about HAVING a good house, because I need shelter and a room, but if I could get a better house for free, I'd abandon the one I have in a heartbeat.

Material possessions should only matter if they serve a function. Otherwise, why care? Save your emotions for things that can reciprocate those emotions.

I have a favorite NES and SNES controller. Also my red 360 controller, which matches my red Resident Evil 4 edition xbox 360, is mine and mine alone. It is always controller number 1 and I use it for everything. As far as controllers go I would have to say that I do feel a certain degree of comfort whenever I use it, like slipping on your old beat-up hoodie.

Gamecube- Yes because its current apperances are worn down reminding me how it became like that (in a good way that I can count on it for not going faulty at me).

Wii remote and nun chuck- No since I always have problems with the rechargeable battery so I am quite negative with it.

I'm attached to my gamecube controller, it is the first gamecube controller I got, it came with the console and I always use it. I also have my special red PS2 controller that I use for every game.

Year 2011 of the Fourth Age. Here follows the account of GundamSentinel, and the finding of the The Controller of Power. It has come to me, the One Controller. It shall be an heirloom of my kingdom. All that should follow in my bloodline shall be bound to its fate for I will risk no hurt to the Controller. It is precious to me, as I bought it with a lot of money. The markings upon the buttons begin to fade. The writing, which at first was as clear as red flame, has all but disappeared. A secret now that only a skilled gamer can tell.

Attached to it? Yes.

Hmm. Not recently actually.

I used to have this to a degree with my old N64 controller. But... Oddly, not with any of the ones I own now... (N64 controllers I mean; Other game controllers are a different thing again. - though I don't feel much for them either)

Mine is orange, battered and I have to tape it to keep it from falling apart but this baby has gotten my through many SSBM tournaments and FPS engagements. My hands have a fantastic memory whenever I hold it and ever since I started using it way back when, I can't use a normal Gamecube controller. I'm quite attached to it.

My house tends to be where several of my friends come to get their gaming fix. It's always been that way so over the decades I've gotten used to it. But I've also developed quite an attachement to "my controller". For each console I have guest controllers, then I have my controller that I don't allow anyone else to use. Guests, even good friends, can on occasion treat your things in a less than respectful manner, especially when dying at the hands of the Covenant troops for the 7th time. Not a big deal, but if no one else uses my controller then I can't get mad at anyone but myself when the thing stops working properly.

Yeah, a Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2, Wireless USB, Dualshock2 form-factor, had it for over 2 years, comfortable to hold, extremely efficient with the batteries and it has never failed me so far.

Only problem is that the face buttons are getting sticky, nothing that some cleaning can't fix though.

Eh not really. I'd only be slightly pissed if it broke because my current controller is expensive and was a gift from a friend. I can always just keep it as a decoration >.>

I know it's not technically a "Game controller", but I could never throw away my Razer Lycosa Keyboard. Not only does it function as a night-light (To provide just enough light to make Eigengrau [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eigengrau] easy) but it's also a great keyboard to type with, it's comfortable for gaming, and any tea-spillings are no problem, as the keys are exceptionally easy to pop off, clean and replace. (As opposed to my other keyboard, which probably had something living in it.)

My Microsoft Razer Habu on the other hand... I'm looking for another 7 button mouse. Habu, you've served me well, and Microsoft was amazing in replacing you 4 times for me, but it's time to go...

If the GBA SP can count as a controller... then yes, I'm emotionaly attached to a controller, as the GBA SP has given me many hours Pokemon. When the GBA SP stops working, I will probably shed tears, as it was awesome.

Eff yeah. My PS2 controler was wih me from the moment I got it along with my ps2 and is still with me on my shelf right next to its ps3 brother. I would be very sad if something would happen to it. I don't mean to sound odd8er) then it is, but I have slain so much stuff with my silver beauty and it never made things difficult for me.

That sturdy plastic frame where the cotnoler fits in nicely after taking it out of the box? Itss till there.. nailed to the shelf in fact so everytime I stop playing I can fix it there so it doesnt accidently drop.

I had a clear green N64 controller years ago that I was attached to (probably part of it was because it was my very own that my parents gave to me) but when my 'smart' brother decided to sell his N64 I sold the controller off with it. I think that if the same thing happened now, I would have kept it but back then I didn't really think about that.

With the PS2, my parents also gave me a clear blue controller which I still have and use regularly to this day. It's probably 7 or so years old now. The only thing wrong with it is that the left analog stick is slightly loose and sits to the right so sometimes the game character will start to walk to the right slowly. Fortunately, it only happens sometimes and I can make it sit back in the right position so it doesn't do that. This controller has gone through so much with me like Final Fantasy X, VIII, VII, XII, etc. (X and VIII being my favourite games of all time) I'll be very sad when it finally becomes unusable.

My parents last christmas gave me a blue ps3 controller and so now I'm fairly attached to it but, I don't really use it all the time because I tend to switch through controllers as the battery runs out and needs to be charged.

I also have an old basic pair of Microsoft keyboard and mouse that I would not want to get rid of either.

Not really. I used to have a see-through blue controller for PS1, but even if it hadn't broken for whatever reason that I can't remember, it wouldn't be any good to me now. I thought about getting a blue Dualshock 3, but it's solid blue and I don't really need another DS3 anyway. If my current black one ever breaks, I still have another untouched black one that came with my slim PS3.

The Cadet said:
My current GCC has been modded for gaming purposes; the springs on the L and R buttons are gone to allow for easier powershielding in Super Smash Bros Brawl. This controller has accompanied me since my debut in the smash scene last october... I'd say it has considerable emotional value for me.
So is that a legal mod or are you just a cheater?
