I've got one costume that I've had for a few years, it does me proud, and my friend and I make props in our spare time if we've got a mind too.

Mostly I enjoy taking photos of people in (invariably better than my) cosplay. I've quite the photo collection, and do enjoy a browse now and then.

No. I probably wouldn't be opposed to the idea. It's just coming up with a decent costume is expensive and I never go to conventions anyway.

I've dabbled. The costumes I like, I look nothing like the character, so it never sees the light of day.

I like making props though. Made myself a tf2 sniper rifle i'm pretty proud of awhile back.

Hell yes I do!
This year I made myself a Black Widow costume that I've been taking to comic cons all over the east coast (of America).

I wanna start cosplaying again. Hopefully AX and Comic Con next year. I've done Indiana Jones (female version) for the last movie midnight showing.....

I know this is a terrible photo but i had a terrible camera at the time
and that was my second time not being paid to cosplay

this was the first

and this was me getting paid to do it

and this explains why i got paid for it

I have tons of cosplays planned out just not the money to do them ATM.

That's awesome! You're so pretty ^_^ I feel slightly ashamed, I can't make an awesome costume like that ;_; I'm absolutely crap at crafts and making clothes :< A few people tthink buying clothes is cheating but if I seriously made my own outfits, it'd look like a bin bag ¬_¬

I'd love to cosplay... Sadly in the UK outside of London, cosplay doesn't exist to my knowledge. It's like a sick act that is shunned by society. And punishable by a good drive by shanking.

I've never gone to anything that people dress up for, but when I eventually do I really really want an Ezio costume ^^ I just love it so much! I wish people still wore clothes like that today!

I don't, but I'd like to. Sadly the only characters I could possibly look like are otacon and dexter Morgan at a stretch. And I don't much feel like dressing up as snake's so-far-in-the-closet-his-home-address-is-in-narnia friend.

I'd love to do cosplay as Francis, Ellis, nick or bill from left 4 dead, but that would take some pretty big efforts to disguise the fact I don't much look like any of them. Though, coming to think of it, if I could find myself a tweed jacket, black hair dye, and the ability to get my hair to behave for a few hours, I may just be able to pull off Alan wake. Just. Maybe. By a long shot.

this is also another reason why I can't really do cosplay.

Oh yes I am. I cosplay as the Doctor (fairly obviously).

I am egarly awaiting the Abbyshot 11th Doctor coat and bow tie to be released but until them I make do with my Tennant coat ;)
It's a good thing you look awesome in those, otherwise people would be getting fed up of seeing them.

OT: I'd like to start cosplaying but never had an excuse. I should be getting a retro lancer rifle next week though, so I'll be Damon Fucking Baird for the Gears 3 release. If anyone has any ideas on making cheap gears power armour that'd be really handy!

I haven't yet. But I do so want to! My first costume is going to be Onikage from the first Tenchu game. His early concept made me think of a drag queen. So when I can, I'm going to start making the outfit and have it ready for when we can actually go to a convention.

Eevee: I think you're team rocket outfit looks adorable. You could pretend to be a new recruit! XD

No but I intend to make a Klingon costume (and join KAG but I digress)
I'm sure you could do better than that. :p
Just you wait till I get a hold of you and a couple of hair dyes in completely unnatural colours...

How does one accomplish a drive by shanking? Do they like stab you as they pass by in the car?

OT: It's something I'd like to do, but sadly I lack funds to for either transport (because I live in one of the most remote regions of the UK) or making actual costumes. Until that's solved I'll just make do with my cat ears and ribbons.

Aww, thank you!

And in terms of being unable to make clothes, I must admit, my costume was a bit mix and match in that regard. I made the gauntlets from scratch and altered the belt to suit my needs, but I'm not going to sew an entire PVC catsuit myself when there are perfectly good readymade ones on the market. I did remove the zipper pull, however, and replaced it with the O-ring.

(Also, can someone explain to me what "le snip" is?)

I've only been to two cons before and cosplayed at neither. There are two cons that are coming up that I plan to cosplay at. Plan to cosplay a the female version of a character known as Canada from Hetalia and she's going to be in her school uniform.

That's not cosplay, that's just pure awesome. =D

I've never cosplayed myself and isn't that interested, however if I were to do so, I wouldn't dress up as a character but would rather make my own. Probably try to look badass or something.

I've got a Marisa Kirisame costume and I'm saving for a patchouli costume. My girlfriend is making a Reimu costume and is going to buy an Alice costume soon. Lol.

My friend once decided in his mighty wisdom to make his birthday a gaming theme party however this envolved then going out on the town. I picked a really complicated costume and couldn't get it finished in time which turned out to be a blessing because I could go out in my normal clothes and not look like a tool. I think the problem was that cosplay lets face it is an acquired taste and they were the only people doing it and therefore got ridiculed by everyone in a busy town centre on a saturday night, I mean while was walking a good 20 metres behind with the rest of the group who didnt wear costumes pretending not to know them.

That being said I do like the idea of cosplay and I'm a total badass at making props but I'd have to do it at a convension or something where everybody 'gets it' and your outward geeky-ness is greated with praise and admiration instead of shame and disgust.

If I had the stuff, I would totally go around my day to day as an amazing Squall Leonhart.
