Certainly not noobish. Only cheap if it's the only thing you ever do, and still noway near as cheap as gliching.
What I'm sick of is people trying to do something other than enjoy the game. It's called a game because it's supposed to be fun for everyone taking part.

Using Matyr in COD4 is cheap. So cheap. *sigh*
It's like the only thing I want to rip out of a game and throw it away.

It takes no skill, it ruins the fun for good people who storm places. It just is cheap. It really is. You can't really counter this too because you where originally to far away to detect the grenade and it's too late when you run in.

Runescape is fucking NOTORIOUS for this. 6 years of playing it, and i still dont know what "safing" means exactly, but i beleive it's eating food to heal yourself in pvp when you're more than over 20% health left. The thing is, though, people can bust out a special attack that can knock off this 20% left in one shot before you can react.

...And those noobs KNOW they can't get a decent, respectable kill any other way, because thier combat skills are so goddamn inferior and they're so scared of losing thier items.

Therefore, these special attacks are abused, abused and abused some more. So when I see my health slip under 35, i usually eat something, and the opposing party immediately yells "SAFER NOOB" and teleports, refusing to continue the fight. Seriously, I almost never wish death on anyone, but beleive me, if i could reach through the screen just for a second, rest assured, if anyone did this to me again, i WOULD reach through and RIP THIER FUCKING BRAINS OUT.

I can't really be annoyed because I'm actually someone who complains about it. A lot. But I don't have a mic, so it doesn't annoy anyone.
Some people might just say something like that to make up for their lack of skill. For example, moi.

That?s why I love the option of well administrated servers that ban for glitching/hacking and general stupidity. I do agree however that it is really sad when a game company ignores its communities or stops supporting a well loved game.

Though when it comes down to it why would they? (unless your paying a monthly fee) If you love the game your going to keep playing it even though you are bound to run across glitchers/cheesers and douchbags and some point in time. Chances are your going to buy the next thing they come out with as well, and that?s where the money is.

I still think too many people confuse game devs for nonprofit orgs full of hugs and love, instead of the businesses that they are.

I am sorry but lately almost every post I have seen lately has said "The cheapest ____" or what they should take out in the next game.

People constantly say that martyrdom or Grenade launchers are cheap in CoD 4. Or that the Rocket launcher is noobish in Halo 3.

I am getting sick of it, every game has some things that are a bit overpowering it happens. I honestly dont think anything is really cheap or noobish, you use what the game gives you, that is how it is supposed to be.

So overall I am just sick of people crying over weapons and such. Sorry I just had to vent it out. It was quite annoying.
Like it or not, there are definitely weapons that are overpowered in certain video games. Frag nades from Gears 2 come to mind. If you're halfway decent at the game, 2 frags = 2+ kills, there's no way around it.

Having overpowered weapons in a game, such as the rockets in Halo and w/e only leads to weapon whoring and waiting for them to respawn and in general not playing the game the correct way.

Also, BS like random nade throws as soon as a round starts in COD4 will net you 1 kill, while doing something skillful like outgunning someone who has juggernaut will get you the same reward.

I'd honestly rather finish a match of Halo +2 with using the AR, BR, etc. than finish +8 with the majority of my kills coming from rockets. Typically, I find it's only the people who whore power weapon spawning that attempt to defend it. Also, please don't equate video games to real life, because they're not meant to be. You can't get shot 4 times with an AK-47 and just walk it off and be 100% 15 seconds later. Video games are simulations, at best. Fantasies is probably a better word.

Anyone who says "Oh, well if you don't take every advantage in real war you're an idiot! So it should be the same way in video games!" is a dolt, end of story.

Whats funny is that the people who complain about these things usually are bad players. Anyone who dies to matrydom deserves it for being either blind to the indicator or blindly running dead ahead. You see someone using the grenade launcher? Call out your teammates to flank and kill that person. Someone running around with Juggernaut? Stopping Power cancels that out. Tossing grenades like artiliry is cheap you say? Learn to use them yourself.

Again most whining comes from people who don't know how to counter shit and just die and start raging.

1) Halo is actually designed around map control. It's been like that since Halo 1. The game has ALWAYS had overpowered weapons. If your team doesn't control the power weapons and power-up spawns you lose, period. (unless your playing against equally bad players who don't control the map, then it's up in the air) If you'd play a game of Halo without using the best weapons availible I'm guessing you never do that well. Edit: My point is that people map controlling ARE playing the game the "right" way. You, by ingoring map control are playing badly or the "wrong" way.

2) Those nades that you say are random, aren't. People have learned exactly where they need to throw them to hit spawn points and/or areas of high traffic at the start of a game. It's called being good and learning the tricks of the game, you should try it.

It depends. If, like the plasma pistol, its a total game-breaker, then the howlers have a point. However, most weapons are situational, if powerful. A rocket-launcher can be defeated by a skilled and well-positioned fighter with a battle-rifle. Both sides have grenades. Energy swords have to be used in close quarters. Vehicles are vulnerable to rockets. Most weapons, however seemingly overpowered, have their weaknesses. You just have to know how to exploit them.

Yes, unless its justified. If you do something that kills yourself 3 out of 4 times, but gives you a kill the last then it's noobish, it's inefficient, and in some games it's damaging for not only you but your team.

If you use a weapon, skill, perk, hero, item, tactic be it camping, launchers, martyrdom, banehallow, or rushing and winning by doing so then you're just playing teh fucking game, and playing it BETTER than your opponents.

If I PWN someone and he QQ's and whine about my weapon/whatever beeing "noobish" i'll just tell him "fine, and you whine about getting pwned by a n00b, what does that make you?"

Basically what they are saying to me on Gears Of War 2 is;

"Hey stop killing me, leave me alone, I'm only a kid, whos well underaged to play this game."

Obviously they don't say that exactly. Yes I know it is contradictary for me to say that, but at least I act mature when I play it.

People think certain aspects of games are cheap for a reason. The grenade launcher in CoD 4 requires practically no skill; aim in the general direction of someone, fire, and hope they don't hide behind a wall. And it's a one-hit kill.
Huh? When I play, I shoot someone directly with it, they keep on running...and I fall down, bullet ridden, since "homeboy" and his buddies decide to unload all their ammo into my corpse...
Maybe they saw you first. That's interesting... I've just randomly intercepted people's grenade launcher shots 10 feet away and died instantly. Many times.
I mean when I hit them directly with the round, they survive. And I was closer than you... don't under estimate the power of getting hit directly with the grenade launcher.
No I mean their round landed 10 feet away (hyperbole maybe but you get the idea).

If you want to play a game with no real strategy or thinking behind it go play wii fencing.
that one of the most intelagent things ive heard in year

If it's cheap, it's cheap. ONLY NOOBS DEFEND CHEAP NOOB WEAPONS.

Seriously though, it is kind of not fair to be walking around with a machine gun and then someone turns around the corner and one hit kills you with a rocket launcher. They're generally very easy to use and for lack of a better word they're cheap. I don't know, maybe I'm just whiny but if it gives you an unfair advantage over the other team, even if it was put in the game by the developers, I don't really like it. You wouldn't like it if I spawncamped with a rocket launcher, would you?

Gears of war 2 is by far the worst for this. Essentially if you use a weapon in the game you are a "n00b FAGOOTZ". I have been called a 'chainsaw n00b', 'shotgun n00b', 'lancer n00b', 'hammerburst n00b', 'grenade n00b' and 'power weapon whore' by the same person. I still haven't figured out why when i get killed in one shot in a round it's l33t skill yet the next round if i return the favor i'm a host *****, even if they have much more points than me.

If you win, your a host. If you loose, your a noob. I could actually go and copy the hate messages i get into here if anyone is remotely interested their pretty funny.

But surely if you're more 'skilled' then you can kill them easily?

I'm personally sick of it. If I'm using a superior strategy to you then you should find a better strategy. When playing Halo 3 I used the Plasma Pistol/Battle Rifle combo that takes down their shields with the Plasma Pistol and takes them out with the Battle Rifle. I was called a noob for this since it didn't take skill. I never said it did but it works very well as a strategy.
