Are you violent?

I tend to yell if I'm mad, but if I'm mad and I get quiet, that's when you need to start making sure there's nothing around I can use as a weapon. And I mean nothing. I've threatened to smash a guy over the head with a company computer before because he was being an ass and couldn't keep his mouth shut. But you really have to work on me to get me that riled up. Most times I just get sarcastic, which isn't too different from how I am any day.

Well, are you? Do you snap and get angry as easily as a twig or are you calmer and need a lot to make you angry? Do you often get into fights or do you control yourself?

I myself have never been in a fight (other than with my brother which you can't really count). All of my friends think I'm weak but I prefer to keep it that way, no one needs to know what I am really capable of. I can't even remember a time when they have seen me overly angry.

Is anyone like me or am I just too calm for my own good?
SWEET avatar, by the way. and no, never, we didn't spend billions of years evolving just to solve disputes by seeing who can hurt the other person the most, what's the point of having a brain if you can't use it to solve problems?
Why thank you!

I can't believe this thread actually got such a large response.

Violent, no. Angry, all the time. I might shout and stuff, but I can keep the violence off. I just bark, I don't bite ;)

I used to defend myself, but now I just kind of get kicked around and attacked by people. What's worse- being attacked and just allowing it, or defending yourself (even putting up your hands to block) and then the person complains and sues you for hurting their hand as they were hitting you, then you go to prison and you know what happens there.
Yeah I was 'told' to defend myself as I grew up but 'shown' that I shouldn't actually listen to that. If I wasn't afraid of Bubba then I'd be extremely violent.

I have a REAL short fuse but I hate getting angry and I hate violence. Occasionally I'll go apeshit banana bonkers but then I usually just grab a pillow and beat the snot out of my mattress before collapsing in a torrent of tears. "Torrent of tears" tend to follow all my forays into extreme feelings of emotions... -_-;

I get pissed off rather easily these days. But it all ammounts to either snide remarks or yelling.

The place where I'm TRULY violent is in video games. God help those poor NPCs.

I'm emotional and I get impassioned over my ideal but I have never hurt anyone in my life and I've been in a good deal of fights, I usually pick em up and put them down somewhere inconvenient such as the ocean or in the snow.

I used to be.

Calmed down a little bit when I met my wife, though not much I was still in the army so being paid to be violent.

My kids were born and I calmed down some more.

Still have an incredibly short fuse. The only people I don't snap at are my wife and kids.

I do often feel the overwhelming need to punch something. Luckily I usually find something inaminate and non-valuable before it takes hold.

Nope. Simply, I do not get overtly angry, let alone violent.

I'm good at self-control, I'd only ever fight back, but would never strike the first blow, nor would I be likely to start yelling in anger. Yelling accomplishes nothing, being calm accomplishes a lot.
This. When customers become angry and decide to take it out on me, I smile. The angrier they get, the happier and more friendly/helpful I become. If they're screaming, I'm grinning from ear to ear and dripping sweet honey from my silver tongue. They look like lunatics and witnesses see how well I handle them. Plus, my job is dreadfully dull and most interruptions of the daily doldrums are welcome, even if they're beet red and spitting.

Angry people want to be taken seriously. Ignoring them is effective and will aggravate them. Smiling and/or laughing will infuriate them. If you're in need of free entertainment, look no further than the man who forgot his I.D. and consequently cannot buy alcohol, as he appears to be in his twenties. Also, he's likely drunk, meaning I wouldn't sell him alcohol regardless of I.D. He loudly threatens me, which amuses me to no end, since there are others within earshot who may aid me. Based on his condition, he'd be no threat. Judging by his apparel, he's not hiding a weapon larger than a small/midsize pocketknife (which would be easily outclassed by any number of readily available, improvised, nonlethal weapons). Finally, I'm a martial artist and he's no larger than I am, making him especially susceptible to a good, hard throw.

Using violence when retreat is an option is stupid. As such, I'd never resort to violent acts unless my family/friends or I were in unavoidable danger.

I have a horrendous temper and will shout you down, but I don't get violent. Oh, unless I've been drinking vodka, in which case you really don't want to piss me off.
