Ok, so there tend to be lots of anti-halo/-religion/-vs/-(insert type of)thread threads floating around. And there are three things I want to know.
1. How do you, fellow escapists, tend to argue your point on the forums?
(flood your opponent with large amounts of facts and figures, call their argument into disrepute, make one all encompassing point which you use against anything and everything they say?)
2. What do you think is the best way to have a discussion/argument?
(The two-person lengthy discussion which excludes everyone else, or the accumulation of many people all stating things for one side or the other and see which side has the most supporters?)
3. How do you argue outside of the escapist forums?
(cool and collected, loud and proud, irritatingly logical, or just plain obscure and confusing?)
In answer to my own questions,
1. I like to undermine their agruments then lead into points of my own.
2. I prefer the one-to-one discussion as it is much easier to manage and keep track of.
3. I prefer the irritatingly logical approach/cool and collected, as it tends to stop people getting worked up which tends to be how most people win their arguments (by being loud and not listening to what you say).
