Although I'm excited for this, I was hoping that there would be a different villain besides Joker in the sequel, namely Mr. Freeze.
Nevertheless, I'm excited to see what this will end up like, and I'll be buying it no matter what happens.

I just hope Catwoman is gonna be in it.

either that, or they make Robin or Nightwing playable characters.

are you sure this isnt some kind of DLC?
For some reason, I feel like this is more of a DLC than a full new game... it just seems too soon.

I'm curious, was there some kind of amusement park boom in Gotham in the 70s? Because surely the Joker must have run out of new abandoned ones to hide out in by now...

It looks good, I get the feeling Joker will really want revenge after we (literally) knocked his teeth out at the end of the last game.

Looks pretty good, but I am also surprised at how soon Rocksteady is to announce this. But hey, when you can only do one thing right, you might as well copy and paste it and milk that cash cow. Looks like they're taking a page right out of Valve's playbook.

When I say this on the VGA last night my mouth was literally open the entire time. It wasn't because they made a sequel (it would have been silly of them not to make a sequel). But that they are releasing a trailer for it so soon.

Actually I think in the Comics Arkham had a second branch of Arkham in the middle of Gotham. This was a bad idea odviously so the built a new one on the an Island. So this isn't a new Arkham. Its Either a really old one, or a failed atempt at branching out the Original Asylum. Either way it looks long abandoned and claimed by the Joker. This means he will realy have the drop on B man this time. My guess is that this was a second facility mad just for the Super Criminals.

I see posts of moving Arkham into the city? And I was thinking criminals formed their own Arkham within the city....

Looks good, but from the incredible speed of a sequel, I'm wary of this being milked. I'll only be getting the sequel if it actually proves it has some good new ideas.

Looks like the Joker's still feeling the pinch from that dose of Titan he injected himself with at the end of the first game. I'm willing to bet he's suffering from some kind of sickness, or maybe withdrawal, as a result of it.

As for Arkham being moved, it looks like it's been moved back into the city, or at least off the solitary island where it used to be. I can't think of any reason they'd make a move like this, except maybe the fact that being so close to the city would also mean being close to the Gotham Police Department.

Here's hoping the game takes place over a couple of city blocks or something. Arkham Island was great, but I really want to hit the streets of Gotham using AA's incredible control scheme.
Wait
Didn't Batman get injected? What does that mean, then...

OK, mute your computer, put on Mozart's Requiem and press play on both the video and the track (make sure you do it at the same time).

Seriously.

Fucking INSANE.

Hehe... awesome.

Personally I think this isn't a true Arkham. My theory; Joker has created some kind of base of operations in a part of Gotham and has named it Arkham Asylum: For the Criminally Hilarious or something like that.

I was hoping for Batman: Gotham City, but maybe this will be essentially the same thing. It's basically looks like it takes place in Gotham, or at least a part of it. I doubt it will be open world though, as I thought it might be, but there's nothing wrong with that.

probably being fixed, what with Poison Ivy sort of, yknow, destroying have of the island/facility.
Actually, I like this theory better. They can't keep the inmates contained with all the damage that's been done so they move them to a part of Gotham, with hilarious results (for Joker anyway).
Ugh, Poison Ivy, the only shitty character in my opinion. At least Quinn had this tortured-soul thing going on, Ivy was just the result of "a science experiment gone wrong".

OT, this has to just be a teaser, surely.

I want two-year sequels for this, please, not one-year sequels.

We have to start a boycott! Rocksteady is clearly backing out on their promise to support the first game by announcing a sequel so soon.

Yes, but Batman injected himself with the anti-titan serum. By the end of the game joker's titan injection had worn off too.(Which also left him pretty screwed up, which is why he's still recovering in that trailer) His ribs actually /burst out of his chest/ during the titan transformation.

I'd be ok with a new game within 1 year for this. That whole L4D2 hubbub annoyed people because they were promised ongoing support like TF2, and that's what they expected. Batman: AA was a complete single-player experience. Very well rounded and polished. If they can produce a sequel with fresh content off the same engine, I'd be willing to have a go at it.

Crafting the single-player campaign at this point would just be a matter of writing and generating art resources. The gameplay and engine work are already in place and functioning so a 1-year turnaround isn't a stretch, particularly since they've had the practice of making the first one.

All they need to do is sell me the same structure but with fresh content and I'll bite.

Arkham Asylum is based slighty on the Animated Aeries, this video mentions what happened to Arkham. That might be what the game is slightly based on. Here is da video: Also this show has the same voice actors as the game. (Including Mark Hamil)
