So it turns out that rocksteady/eidos are including Robin in their new and improved challenge maps and say that he's coming into the mix with his own set of moves and gadgets. They havn't said much more on the subject so I thought i'd take the opertunity to see what if anything all my fellow escapists expect and what you'd like to see. Oh and I also hope he's not all angsty like he appears to be in the official picture

Robin is one of those characters where a little angst is pretty understandable. You're family meets a grisly end then suddenly some creepy old guy who sleeps all day wants you to live with him. I think a fair amount of angst is believable.

Despite what classic designs would have you believe, the dude can actually be pretty kickass if there a good writer behind the project; Just think back to the Teen Titans cartoon. The new design looks dark and gritty (presumably to fit with the rest of the setting created by Rocksteady), and that's totally fine by me.

The entire concept of Robin always seemed to contradict Batman to me. I know he's been badass before and everything but Batman is supposed to be this solitary Dark Knight, out for justice without anyone there to help him, hell he's hated in a lot of places, giving him a reliable sidekick takes away from the Batman image

Pretty sure he's a Best Buy exclusive. Meaning only available to a single chain in the US. So fuck him.

Personally I would have preferred Nightwing. Might make more sense in the story, as Gordon would have more than likely asked about the Teen Wonder in the first Batman game, even if Robin isn't technically a part of the main story here. I don't know, I'm anal like that.

robins a funny charachtr...I mean they certainly cant make him all "gee wlikers batman!"(did he actually ever say that? well you get my point) in the dark batman world

so its understandable they have to make him look dark, really alot of the time it seems that robin just doesnt work...but that doesnt mean he cant

Yeah but it also gives him an audible conscience, Robin is often the first to tell Batman when he's losing it and it also allows us to see Bruce Wayne deeper in his role as Father/Brother/Mentor figure to the Robins.

Given how Batman reacts to Superman grumbling 'boy scout' every five minutes I think it's actually less likely Robin would be all cheerful and stuff. I think Batman would lose it after about 5 minutes. *eyetwitch*

I think Robin is there to look into how Batman deals with someone who has been through the same formative experience of his life, his parents being murdered. Robin wants to help and get revenge but Batman knows what that can lead too. It's kind of an interesting idea and story line for writers.

If they're just wanging him into the Challenge Maps (and exclusive to Best Buy no less*) then I could really not care any less. However I can say that if Rocksteady didn't use him in the story they'd be missing out on a big opportunity to expand on Batman as a character.

* Fuck Best Buy, the nearest Best Buy to me is Merry Hill or Derby! You can fuck that right off. Does this exclusivity even hold in Best Buy UK shops or is it only Best Buy of America?
