A little worried that a new studio is taking over but I'm still interested. I wonder who will voice the Joker?

I'm with Yahtzee on this one. Asylum < City < ... what would follow? I know it's "Origins" but where will it take place?

I heard Kevin Conroy's not on the project, that's a humongous travesty if true but it seems rumoury... The guy who dubbed the Joker in Injustice surpassed my expectations, he was basically mimicking Mark Hammil to the last detail but it was pretty good and sounded authentic enough for me not to cry every time I hear his voice(Like in Young Justice where I wanted to die or some of their animated movies like the ones John dimaggio(bender) and Brent Spiner(Data) dubbed him, couldn't really pull it off very well imho.

So I'm somewhat hopeful about the Joker now, everything else? Not really but let's see. I'm certainly waiting for a let's play instead of pre-ordering like I did with City though.

I hear its supposed to take place in the entirety of Gotham City, including the Arkham City area before it was renovated.

They could with a whole living city even have episodic expansions to add more layers and storylines to the city as well.

he voiced him in under the red hood which i highly recommend to anyone who is a batman fan. as for the game i heard they are leaving the combat and predator missions the same but adding in more impressive detective missions that require searching the game world for additional information. as for the multiplayer if its similar to hitman's multiplayer i can get behind it. still between this and saints row 4 my favorite series have me a little worried this year

The game was the cover feature of the most recent Game Informer. It sounds like Rocksteady is still providing some guidance and technical expertise while they work on their own, as yet unrevealed, projects, which is probably to the good (if nothing else it suggests there wasn't acrimony behind the new game being turned over to this team and that the originators probably have a degree of confidence that they can pull it off.)

What I find unfortunate is... Black Mask. It seems he will play a major role, if not out-and-out be the primary villain like Joker was in Asylum.

...I @$%#ing hate Black Mask.

Not because he's a sadistic psychopath- he is, but there are plenty of, shall we say, less than sociable characters in Batman's rogues gallery. The Joker even has an odd sort of charm as he goes on his balmy way, killing people.

But because, from what I've read of him, he largely succeeds by having the Power To Make Everyone Around Him Suddenly and Inexplicably Incompetent. Suddenly, characters don't realize people they've known all their lives are acting strangely. Suddenly, the World's Greatest Detective doesn't recognize that he's part of a script from his own playbook. Suddenly, people who spend half their lives subduing superhuman monsters fail to properly take out someone who's basically an ordinary human being, leading to him getting the upper hand.

The only thing I like about the character is how he died- that basically the arrogance he'd picked up from recognizing that crappy writers had given him Plot Armor caught up with him and he got his head blown off by someone he thought wouldn't go that far.

Time will tell, of course; it could be that the Origins writers have a new and novel take on the character that will make him intriguing rather than irritating. I just wish they'd gone a different direction.
