Arrested for shopping mall fire

OK so i just saw on the news that 2 aussie's got arrested for inciting a crowd to burn down a mall in Bancock. And these 2 are now claiming to to be "polictical prisoner's".

Given the current situation over there if you are caught yelling "BURN IT DOWN!!" and a few minutes later it does catch fire i think they have a right to arrest you.

Its like going to and airport and joking you have a bomb in you suitcase, you just dont do it!.

your thoughts on the matter?

I wouldn't consider that burning down a mall makes you a political prisoner. It makes you a vandal and an arsonist. I just hope that noone got hurt because of these idiots.

If it seems reasonable that a given action will cause unconsented harm to somebody then it should be illegal. With regards to inciting arson, the police need to look at this on a situational basis and ask did this pair really want to burn the mall down, or are they just being stupid? If they're just being stupid give them a telling off and don't arrest them. If they had a real intent on burning down the mall then they should be arrested and charged.
