Borderlands has an interesting cartoon style. It adds a lot of dimension to the in game world. Bioshock also has a certain oldie feel to it. Both are awesome examples of art in gaming.

I think if we released more artistic games, such as Ico and SotC, the gaming industry might be taken seriously, instead of viewed as simply put, toys.
It might be taken more seriously but the lack of sales would kill it faster than a bullet to the head of a man hanging from a noose. They might be considered classic works of digital art by some but most people found them boring and would turn most people off from games if that is all they had.

Okami
Shadow of the Colossus
Ico
Team Fortress 2(name another game with similar art style and such unique play)

Also artistic games can be subjective, what one calls art another may call trash.

KotOR II, for bringing a really dark and interesting set of characters and world to a universe that has always been very up beet or happy, except for its second arc which still wasn't that bad.

Morrwind, because thats exactly how every sand box should be done. Huge, tons of people with different needs, 14 bajillion cultures, beliefs, factions, etc... You can play the game for a hundred hours and still have things to do. A shame its combat system was total trash

Wc3 for RTS. Applying a well done rpg system to a fun and unique set of races that were all different, while having an engaging story that told the tale of an epic journey, tons of different heroes, and the entire life style of several races. Plus DotA is the best game ever.

GTA san andreas was pretty good to, but I think morrwind did the whole sand box thing better.

Grim Fandango. Stylish, has an actual, good plot, and stands on its own as not only a game, but as an experience.

Morrowind was artistic because the whole world was a story, created by imaginations run off the rails and populated by poets and prophets, while the backstory teased out the essence of the fantasy genre itself, tweaked it on the nose and then fed it back into the narrative.

It was a video game novel masquerading as sandbox game.
