I don't draw anymore and I can't seem to find any of my old art at the moment. I used to be good, but I haven't donr it in years so I fear my ability has gone down the crapper.

BUT! I do write music and I have quite a few stuff that's all over the place. Some of it classical and some of it rock, it really all depends on my mood.

I'm super jealous of all the amazing free-style artists we have. I regret focusing on reference/portrait from a young age and it's super painful to look at anything I've drawn in my own style. But, I'm workin' on it!

Anyone interested in learning to draw; I, myself, am self-taught (I own literally one book) for the last...10 years give or take. The key is to draw, frequently on a regular basis, otherwise it's easy to get into a rut. (<--- coming from someone that is frequently in a rut.)

Also, enjoy those first few years of drawing where you think you are amazing. Because once you actually start getting somewhat decent, you'll only see the mistakes.

Woah those are awesome. I still haven't got used to using a tablet despite having one for about a year now.
I'm currently doing my art GCSE at school and did this for some homework about a month ago. Dunno if I asked you this in Artist in Thee once, but what types of pencils do you use? I love how you manage to keep everything crisp. I'm still moving beyond "don't smudge your lines."

Dunno if I asked you this in Artist in Thee once, but what types of pencils do you use? I love how you manage to keep everything crisp. I'm still moving beyond "don't smudge your lines."

I only ever use two kinds of pens, and I'm always flip flopping between them; A fineliner and an average ballpoint writting pen.

My avatar and the bottom drawing are done with a fineliner, the two in the middle are done with a ballpoint pen (all hatchings are done with special Copic fineliners).

But both have one advantage over the other, so I'm always conflicted about which one to go for: The fineliner creates clean and stark black lines wich makes a drawing pop just that bit more, but for someone who's primarily a sketcher like me it can be annoying to work with (I lack the steady hand necessary for the "clear line"). The ballpoint pen on the other hand is absolutely fantastic for sketching, but it makes the outlines come across as somewhat soft and unfocused. Plus, it can smudge.
