As I walk through the shadow of the valley of death, I shall fear no evil because on the left i have Ratchet and on the right Chuck Norris, and we have most powerful guns in the whole goddamn universe.

Try to beat that.

You know when I read this I immediately thought of Left 4 Dead 2, as Coach says it in response to Ellis saying "Alright, Coach. Got anything inspirational to say as we enter the swamps?"

And that's my entire contribution to this thread...

I have seen many variations of this Psalm. My favorite one is from Jarhead when Jamie Fox says, "As I walk through the valley of death, I shall fear no evil: FOR I AM THE BADDEST MOTHAFUCKA IN THE GODDAMN VALLEY!!!"

I was just wondering if anyone else had any other good ones.
That's a good one, i was just watching that movie the other day but i like this one from Men of Honor:
The only difference between me and that old preacher is that he worked for God, and I *am* God!

Actually I think it was General Patton that first made that quote famous. He said something along the lines of being the toughest bastard in the valley.
Nah, i think it it orginates from the bible, and used occasionally in military matters- e.g, it crops up in one of Tennyson's famous poems about the charge of the light brigade.
No. I meant that I think Patton was the first to ad to the quote and make it famous.

Like this: "Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil, BECAUSE I KNOW IM THE TOUGHEST BASTARD IN THE VALLEY!"

I know that the first part comes from the bible or somesuch, bur seriosly, nobody ever actually reads that.

It's from the Bible - Psalm 23:4

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Is it odd that I read that in Liam Neeson's voice?
Nope, Liam has got a great voice. Now if you read that in the voice of Ronald McDonald then we may need to give you a coat that allows you to hug yourself all day.

I like the Weird Al version myself,

"As I walk through the valley where I harvest my grain, I take a look at me wife and realize she's very plain!"
I never noticed that was where it was from....But *high five* for Weird Al

Some American pilot was asked to report his altitude and he answered: "Though I fly through the valley of death i shall fear no evil. For I am at 60'000 feet and rising." A lot more original than just saying 60'00 feet.

"... For I have a full clip and an itchy trigger finger"
"... For I am fear incarnate"

As for Tennyson, can we go one thread relating to poetry/the bible/the military WITHOUT that painful excuse for a poem being puked upon us?

For there is no good and evil, just choices and consequences.
And I can't be bothered anyway, I'm too distracted by... well practically anything.

"As I walk through the valley of the shadow of LA, the footsteps that were next to me have gone their seperate ways..."

The River, by Good Charlotte. Kickass song and quite a few references to religion in there, probably harking to the religous background of the actual pslm...
I love that song.

As I walk through the Valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil, for I have a torch.

Geddit, geddit? Shadow, torch? wink wink, nudge nidge! Hahahaha!

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil...for I am the meanest ************ in the valley, and I carry a big stick! - LL Cool J, Deep Blue Sea.

Someone already said it kinda but I felt the need to give the quote its proper justice.

On Topic: I would have to say that flying one I just read in this thread. I have heard that one (Here) and it's good.
