Never heard about the lazy police, or high Danish crime rate. ;)
Im quite happy the european laws are much tougher on gun-owning than in other countries. But still: I believe there are more needless deaths through legit gun owners, and wrong safekeeping, than lifes safed (By privat! Not by official firearms).
Yeah I'm not against it at all. I approve of it. I'm into airsoft instead of real guns, and that's fine and fun.

What's the best way to find out the laws (local, state, federal) re: using a firearm against a home invader? For that matter, " " in a self-defense situation?
I knew a guy who was studying criminal justice and he mentioned that in several states - mine included (Pennsylvania) - "equivalent force" or something to that effect must be used. In other words, he said that if someone enters my home with a knife, I have to respond with a similar object... not a firearm. True or false?

You must respond with a similar level of force.

However, a knife is deadly force, therefore you may respond with deadly force if a reasonable person would assume the individual is a threat to your life.

Rule of thumb, unless you are in fear for your life, you cant shoot.

What do you think is the easiest gun to handle? Any specific one that you own or just a type of gun in general. Thanks for answering btw.
A .22 Rifle, Semi-auto. Not a lotta kick-back in that gun making it very easy to handle.I got my own back at my parents house.

What guns would you suggest for home defense?
Is the FAL, in real life, a decent gun? I happened to come across one the other day, and it looks cool BUT I'm sure looks don't make the gun.
My Grandfather, father, and me use a .45 Ruger handgun, Its powerful, its light, its very easy to hide or keep on your person. I would recomend using Black Talon rounds however you cant buy those anymore because they are illegal to sell. (I'd use that over the FAL, and yes the FAL is a decent weapon in terms of accuracy and handling, but a very expensive weapon). Or another great one is a shotgun, I also use a 12-gauge, and my dad has a 20-gauge. So you can also go ultra-power with a shotgun. Slugs outta do the trick.

This is for everyone reading.

Guns are not toys (so dont play with them). Most of you already know that, but using a gun is not like playing a video game, its not that easy. people own guns for hunting, home defense, self defence, or target shooting.

and remember, Guns dont kill people, people kill people. Have a nice day :)

Have you ever used it and if so for what (apologies if someone's already asked this)?
Depends on what you mean by "use"
I shoot often enough, its fun and challenging as a hobby.
I have hunted, though not often.

When it comes to defending yourself or your family or friends, you can do anything to the person who is threatning you as long as you do not use any illegal items such as a gun without having a license for it.

but what's the worst/stupidest/most dangerous thing you've seen someone do with a firearm?
Not the OP, but I want to share anyways.

I've got some real winners amongst my more removed cousins. One of them was trying to do that tough-guy thing you see people do sometimes in cowboy movies, where the hero spins the gun around by the trigger guard and then sticks it back in the holster. Now, a sensible person would know that you don't do that shit with a loaded gun, right?

Yeah, he didn't check to make sure the gun was actually unloaded and he shot himself in the meaty bit to the side of his neck. It didn't kill him, but it healed kind of lopsided and he ended up with a permanent hunch.

I am a gun owner and I think sometimes people dont know things about guns and want to.
So, ask away.

As this is a game forum I expect to receive lots of FPS gun related questions, thats fine but recognize that im not up on every single game, so if you are going to ask me if gun X from game Y is real, maybe post a link to a site describing it.

Also, im not really here to get involved in a gun control debate, if that is what you want to do then please PM me and I will link you to a political discussion forum with a gun control discussion board that I post on regularly. Or if you only want to engage me in such a discussion then we can do it through PMs.
I just dont want to clutter this post with that stuff.

So, go ahead, ask me anything and I will answer you to the best of my ability.
Nice to know there is someone else here who knows their way around a firearm :). What guns do you have?

When I say use I mean fired, i.e. at a burglar or cat etc...I assume from your previous post that you fire at targets/skeet or somesuch

Would a Mosin Nagant be a good first rifle? I've been considering purchasing one due to their abundance and cheap price, but I've never owned a gun before thus I don't know if one of those would be a good choice.

How does one commit murder with a gun, without getting caught?
Join the army?

If you shot a gun horizontally from the earth and dropped a bullet at the same time/height which one would land first, if wind and curvature weren't an issue.

and... pictures of your guns please.

DO you hunt or collect?

Also why do bad cowboys always win? :)
the one that you shoot because it will reach terminal velocity faster/start at terminal velocity

.22 rifle is an excellent place to start.

Right now I am looking for a marlin .22, they shoot extremely well.
But most .22 rifles are fine, rugers are good if you just have to have another brand.

Hard to buy a bad .22

I have killed animals yes.
Quail mostly, I hunted deer once but it was too warm so they never showed up to be shot at.

No, it kicks really hard, you will shoot it a few times and probably stop because it hurts.
You should start with a used .22 rifle, can be had for around $200, I would get a marlin.

They dont exist to the best of my knowledge, though I would not mind owning one, I cant imagine what plasma would do to a deer or a tin can, but i would love to find out.

Of the ones I own I like my mosin nagant best right now, which is strange because it is the cheapest.
Its long range and pretty accurate.
