An excellent example would be in CoD 4, you were depicted in a bloody civil war, where you were murdering your fellow countrymen needlessly.

If I was Russian I'd be offended by this, as there surely must be other countries to pick on.

Off topic here, sorry for potential derail, but was anyone else annoyed that in CoD 4, for once you couldn't play as the russians? I wanted to fight the good fight on the supposed "Good side" (Good and bad is determined by who wins, so it's hard to say who truely was good XD )

I can answer that. Unless you're surrounded by the language or very actively study it, you might as well give up.
