Does Scottish Gaelic get used at all outside of the North of Scotland.
Why aren't they making young Scotts learn it in school?

i went to school in the south (Glasgow), i think we dont learn it for the same reason noone learns latin anymore. its just not used, to be fair its a tradition but we have alot of tradition besides Gaelic

wales on the other hand, they speak welsh as a primary lanuage

How often do you wear kilts? What I mean isn't "Do you only wear them on special occasions", I'm wondering how frequently kilt-wearing occurs, that is, how many days a year on average you see somebody wearing a kilt.

not often, mostly only for weddings and proms and stuff

Actually, the full kilt is only really an occasion thing (full kilt = kilt+jacket+shirt+tie+brogues+sporran+sgian dú+socks+flashes+belt).

I love to wear just the kilt, belt and sporran with a t-shirt and a pair of long kilt socks as if they were any other clothes. At least, I did when I was in Scotland. Down in England you get some really weird looks for doing it. But then, they're a bunch of miserable bampots anyway.

Are you sure about that "not being used anymore atall thing? " i just came back from a gaeltacht in ireland were i improved my gaelic-skill, you dont have such areas? would be a pity.

Yeah that would be a pity.
I'm an aussie with no doubt Scottish heratage and with only 200 or so years of history here you tend to apperciate counties with alot of history and tradition.
It would be a shame to see it die off as a langauge.

[Generalisation] Nah, there are three groups, the catholics, the protestants and everybody else. The catholics hate the protestants and vice-versa. Everybody else doesn't give a shit. [/Generalisation]

Also independance is a retarded idea, promoted by hate towards the English, or optimistic idealists who genuinely believe it would work. Which i'm fairly sure it wouldn't.
