Assassin's Creed 2 DLC help?

I plan to get both of them soon. I know you can't replay memories in that game (WTF?!), but I was wondering if you could still play them without having to go through THE ENTIRE GAME ALL OVER AGAIN. I beat the game, but is it somehow possible to go back to just those two sequences?

And yes...I know I'm late to the party on this one...

I believe that the DLC can be played separate from the story, but I might be wrong.

I feel for you man. The game withheld a late game story Trophy from me, so someday I'll have to suffer through its asinine mechanics again to Platinum it. I wasn't expecting it to be so bad, but hey I got it for free so nothing lost.
