Assassin's Creed 2-No Altair?

This game will be set during the 1500's in Italy I heard. And Ezio means "Eagle" in Italian, and Altair means eagle in Arabic. So I guess they will have a similar name, appearance and personality.

As a native Italian speaker I can tell you that you are WRONG!
Ezio does not mean Eagle, Aquila means Eagle. Saying that Ezio means Eagle is like saying Matt means Badger.

The name Ezio comes from the ancient greek Aetios meaning friend or lover.
I dont care what some ignorant assuming asshole told you down at ign.com.

P.S. Sorry if I sounded overly aggressive, I just hate it when people make false assumptions about my language without even bothering to look it up.

I didn't know that "Ezio" meant eagle, I just found it on Wikipedia. It wasn't my fault.

I was on Kotaku and I saw the new Game Informer picture for Assassin's Creed 2. But it wasn't Altair it was a new character named Ezio. Apparently Ezio is a noble who lost his family to rival families and is out for revenge.

Will he be more awesome than Altair? What do you guys think of the new character?

By the looks of him, he seems to be more of a badass and not some moron who cuts of his finger just to be able to stab someone better.

Assassin's Creed never really struck me as a game that created a strong connection between the player and the played. That being said, it doesn't really strike me as a big deal.

I like the grin on his face.

look how his cape swings to one side and the material on the right shoulder is different so his cape might be concealing only one arm
