I was thinking about buying Assassin's creed 3, But i've *never* played (AC= Assassin's Creed) AC1, AC2, AC Brotherhood and AC Revelation.
Some people told me i must play the previous Assassin's creed games and after I finish them all, I should buy the AC3.
I know If I'll just buy the AC3 as my first Assassin's creed game, so probably i wont understand the story, tho i watched a video which explains me about Assassin's creed series. it's called "Assassin's creed in 5 minutes".
What do you guys think?
Thanks.

Playing through all those games is no guarantee that you'd understand the story or that you'll like it, I've played every Assassins Creed game there is and I'm still not 100% on what the hell it's all about.

While I did end up enjoying the game overall I'd encourage you to be certain before you buy it, even with a basic understanding of the(frankly ridiculous) backstory the game is still very slow to start up taking quite a few hours and several tutorial missions to set itself up before letting you out in the open world to actually play it.

If you are just focused in Assassins Creed 3 specifically because you think it looks interesting then I'll leave you to make up your mind however if you were thinking about introducing yourself to the series then I'd recommend playing a few of the previous games before this one, specifically AC2 and Brotherhood.

I dont know, AC2's Graphic is so bad, and some people told me it's story is not really special and stuff like that.

Personally I prefer AC2 graphics over other installments in the series. Everything is so nicely put together to give a unique atmosphere and a feeling like you're really roaming around Italian cities during the Renaissance. You can tell that AC2 was made before Ubisoft decided to milk the series.
The story is also the best in the series. Actually, AC2 is the best game in the franchise IMO.

You should definitely play the games from the first one. They're really cheap now. You can probably get the first 4 games for the same amount of money you'd need for AC3. AC3 is widely regarded as the weakest one in the series, so that's another important thing to remember. The main character is boring and the story has a weird pacing.

I don't want to go into a lot of details about the gameplay mechanics. Lets just say that Ubisoft doesn't know how to keep the gameplay focused. They are so hellbent on giving players as many options as possible because they think that they are widening the audience that way and that they're giving players more freedom. But the game just ends up being a complete mess. They cram so many gameplay mechanics in the game without balancing them and making them fun, just so they could brag about having a lot of things to do. It's like stuffing your closet with expensive clothes that don't fit you.

If you have an xbox gold account you can currently get Assassins Creed 2 for free.

For me that and Revelations where by far my favorite out of the franchise whilst I found AC3 to be quite poor really, I think it's because the urban areas where simply not up to the standard set in previous iterations.

AC3 is the most boring game in the franchise you could possibly play. On paper it sounds great but it just makes you want to fall asleep.

I guess if you're not too interested in playing the earlier games, you should start with AC Brotherhood, or AC II. Revelations was ok but doesn't stand up to those two.

AC3 is one of the worse ones in the franchise, both plotwise and gameplaywise. Starting with ACII or Brotherhood would probably be a better bet.

If you want to get AC3 regardless, you probably could get by with just a few videos and the wikipedia page. Although I recommend ignoring the "Desmond" plot altogether and focus on the "Connor" plot, because the Desmond plot is stupid as fuck.

This game has the king of sourpuss' as the lead. Crack a smile, man, you're a badass assassin; that's worthy of a smile!

You'll need to at least catch up with the story to understand this one but, imo, the story's nothing special.

I would recommend starting with Assassin's Creed 2, it really is the high point of the series for me. The first one is notable for actually making you feel like a real assassin, but it is very repetitive. I kinda enjoyed Revelations and disliked Brotherhood so you wouldn't miss much by not playing those games.

I did enjoy Assassin's Creed 3 a lot, but it does have its share of problems. The story won't confuse you, if there is an Assassin's Creed Wiki(and I'm sure there is) you can always read up on the plots of the games and important characters.

I bought Assassins Creed 3 to the WiiU and finished it (main caimpaign) last week.
Well I must say there are things they talk about that has connections to the earlier games but nothing destroyed my experience of the ACIII and I enjoyed it a lot.
So I say go for it, buy the third one, if you want to get the earlier ones and play them or just read about "the story so far" then do that. I did not do any of these and I liked the game as an individual installment with no earlier AC experience.

The combat in AC3 is easily the best in the series, so much so that I can't go back to play AC2 without finding the old combat so awkward and choppy, so if you enter the series anywhere then play AC2 first before AC3, although AC3 is by no means a bad game, but it does feel like a beta for AC4 in parts so hopefully AC4 is what AC2 was for AC1.

I decided to go ahead and buy:

Asassin's creed
Asassin's creed Brotherhood
Assasin's Creed II
Asassin's creed Revelations

based on recommendation from totalbiscuit, and because the games came to a total of £12

which is ridiculously cheap! even if they aren't perfect. i'll personally probably be a cheapass and get 3 next year when it's £1 or something lol :D

I liked the combat either, but idk if it worths it's price.
you see, in my country, AC3 is on sale for $45 in the cheapest store that sells video games. this is ridiculous.
That's the main reason I'm asking very carefully if i should buy the AC3 or not.

$45 is indeed ridiculous, so if I were you I'd see if you could pick up a cheap copy of AC2 and see if you like the general feel of the gameplay, because don't get me wrong I can't go back and play AC2 now I've played AC3, but back when I did it was a great game and brought me many hours of enjoyment, especially building up the villa and exploring the tomes.

A better idea would be to play AC, AC2 and ACB, and then just stop... But that's just what I think. If you are gonna play AC3, then... yeah, you should probably play them all in order. Just keep in mind while playing the first one, it get's better.

Get the first and brotherhood.

Skip the rest, because you've seen it all whhen you played those 2.
And if you like sea battles, wait for AC4. AC 3 had em, they were amazing, but mainly sidemissions

In my opinion you're better off playing the earlier ones, specifically 1, 2 and Brotherhood, anyway because they're better than AC3. But as far as the story goes, you will be confused with Desmond's part of AC3 if you don't read up on it, but it's nothing you have to play a game to understand.

Just a heads up. The people who told you that the ACII story line is 'nothing special' are either lying or wrong. 2 is a good place to start off if you want to get into the series. Heck, it's free on Xbox live for gold members right now (if you have an Xbox). My advice? Instead of buying Assassin's Creed 3, buy 2 and Brotherhood (you can probably buy both a great deal cheaper than you could buy 3). Assassin's Creed 2 is one of the finest games I've ever had the pleasure to play and if you don't like them you can smack me round the face with a wet fish.

Assassin's Creed 3 was pretty dull. I would rank it last in the series. The only thing I really enjoyed about it was the new sailing gameplay.
