Anyone else feel as if this Brotherhood game is just a pump out? I mean AC2 was only last year.

I don't. It looks like they're continuing Ezio's story. Nothing wrong with that, it's just a spin-off game.

Anyways, they're going to make AC3, don't worry about it. In fact, there are some rumors that this assassin will be in Egypt. In fact, I've got a picture here:

Here's hoping the last one is in Yonaguni (if I recall right).

Unless I'm mistaken, that's a cover for an upcoming graphic novel/comic based around Assassins Creed. It would be cool to play as the Egyptian assassin (though I though, from what I saw in the Assassin vault, the Egyptian assassin was a woman) though doing so for the AC3 probably wouldn't happen, as it's unlikely they will take us back in time for the sequel.

What I wonder about AC3 is, given that Assassins Creed is really the story of Desmond, where it will be set. Given the above fact, it would therefore seem logical to focus entirely on the exploits of Desmond, though removing the period setting would destroy much of what makes Assassins Creed unique. What we are likely to get will be a mixture of both, I hope, with maybe more emphasis on Desmonds present day meanderings.

Ubisoft has already said that you'll play as Desmond.

I don't like how the "Trilogy" promise is being broken here. Lots of people wanted the third game, you understand, Ubisoft.
But what I hate most is the possibility that the "Trilogy" promise isn't being broken. I dread to imagine that.
Yeah, I know this definitely isn't the third game in the main trilogy, but I enjoy unnecessary dramatics.

They will release AC3, just not next year.
And maybe not even the year after that. Well, the associative producer thinks it needs a break, but I'm sure Ubi thinks otherwise. And I agree that we need a break, or it will just get too boring and bland. They need time to come up with some new/better gameplay elements. I mean the whole flying thing was new and used in the trailers for the AC2, but it only happened once...in the whole game. So lets hope nothing like that happens this time around.

But Brotherhood does look really, really fun in terms of the multiplayer.

You are aware that it takes awhile to produce a game right? And proper funding? Just because AC2 came out last year does not dictate that AC3 will be coming out this year, or even next year, or even the year after that. It takes a long time to make detailed games these days, and if they want the third installment to be any good and improving on any factors (which I hope they would, considering money=good), they're going to have to put all their hard efforts into making it that way.

Have some patience, it'll come out before you know it.

*sighs* I really enjoyed AC2 .. except the parts with Desmond in it. Seriously, he and his buddies, blonde girl, punk rock girl, and Captain British stereotype, were painfully boring. For me, Desmond is the car you drive in GTA- he's just the tool you use to get to the fun part of the game. While I KNOW you will be playing as Desmond, I hope throughout the game you still have to hop into the Animus and get back into time or whatever and play as some historical badass assassins.

They want to do more with the franchise, so instead of immediately going into AC3, they are doing Brotherhood. Brotherhood is essentially "3," because the story is supposed to be more than just an expansion of 2, and they are trying multiplayer. I think Brotherhood is a test of the multiplayer so they can get it right for 3.

Someone from Ubi announced that that concept art is related to a non-game project.

OT: Ezio's a likable character, and Desmond's plot will also be advanced, so I have no problem with the game.

It's not like Ubi can't handle it; look at everything they changed and added for AC2, and the time-span they did it in. Besides, they usually release a spin-off for the handhelds only this time it's on the Big 3.

Oh, you mean like they did massively in AC2?

I hate what they're doing with Assassins Creed Brotherhood. It's just a way to suck up people's money while they're still hyped up about Assassins Creed 2. Don't get me wrong, I loved Assassins Creed 1 and 2,(though, 2's ending wierded me out a little bit. I don't know where their going with it) but I don't like it when companies decide to put a project on hold so that they can soak up some of their fans' cash. If they need some time to make AC3, so be it. But I would rather them devote their full attention to it so that they can make it better, not waste their time on a side plot.

Honestly, I have absolutely NO IDEA where they will take AC3 gameplay-wise. Will firearms be a major part of the combat? (So far, only batons and an old Assassin's Blade has been used in the Desmond Segments, although it was confirmed that guns were used by Abstergo in AC1 through an intercom message revealing signs of a firefight.) If so, will it be in any way be connected to the combat systems of the first two (three counting Brotherhood) games? And if not firearms, then what? More batons? (Would make sense, since in real life, silencers have LITTLE TO NO SIGNIFICANT EFFECT WHATSOEVER.)

Little necromancy here cause I don't want to go and start another thread to spout my fanboyism. Anywho, these are exactly my thoughts. When you consider that Desmond will probably be charged with searching for the Pieces of Eden before the Templars find them, that puts a whole nother twist on it. I'm thinking it might be like Splinter Cell, but more Thief-esque.

I just don't know man!

As for this... have you fucking seen the new features? Streamlined combat (no more constantly waiting for the counter kill!), duel ranged weapons, horseback riding? No friend, I don't think they are milking us for money - they are giving us great new toys and taking our money in exchange. I can't wait, honestly. I do understand about them wasting their time on a side-plot, but c'mon... cut them some slack. They can take this opportunity to learn the dos and don'ts of stealth multiplayer.
