Am I the only one who took the statement to really be more " the new 3rd party multiplayer engine we licensed, bought or hired an outside group to cobble together for us only does 2 sides. Sorry bout that, but that's all that was in the budget. Have fun".

im sorry i thought we were meant to improve games with new releases not decrease playability. purty graphics over gameplay its a really annoying problem thats not going away anytime soon.
Christ it's a Gametype in Multiplayer, hardly a game breaker.
It's not that. It's the fact that they came up with a horribly lame excuse, not a reason mind you, two different things there, as to why they can't have 3 side multiplayer. It's the same crap with people saying "Oh well PC games are harder to optimize". No it isn't, that's why we have device drivers. Suck it up and do some work for once guys, this is just pitiful and shouldn't be accepted reasoning.

How many of you have actually played AC multiplayer? It's not Worms, where you can shoot wherever you want and it doesn't really matter if you even hit anything or anyone. Having three teams is not just a matter of changing some values from 2 to 3. There are some very complex systems in play with a game like AC with all its abilities and moves. It's a question of design - why they didn't design it to allow three teams from the beginning. For whatever reason, they didn't, so they can't just add the functionality in with a patch as some have suggested. It would be far more trouble than a couple of gamemodes are worth.
My understanding of sequels is that they should have more things, not less. Especially if things being taken away are popular modes. Them saying that none of those game systems support 3 teams is pretty pitiful since didn't they design those systems? It's not as if it hadn't been done before either. They had the know-how to make it happen but chose not to, and clearly not for this stupid reason.
