And now for my weekly thread.

Sight, comes from eye and ultimately allows humans to function in the degree we do correct? Without sight we would be at a terrible disadvantage even with our intelligence. So that being said our sight is very important, nay is a key part of our being. So when the sight is weak how does that reflect on the individual? Are they just weaker than others(not literally)? Over all how much importance do you place in your vision Escapist?

Me personally I treat it in high regard. My current personality(? for firefox) is of all the Naruto eye techniques. Whenever I let my mind wander, somehow always the characters vision is enhanced by some magical power(don't ask). Like how I recently got glasses, this came at a great blow to my pride. A bit of it was that me and my brother were the only people in my family who didn't have glasses. But now we both folded and there is no such beacon. But most of it was the fact I felt worse as a person upon learning I needed glasses to see stuff beyond 5 feet in clarity.

So let us debate philosophy of eyes and sight shall we Escapist?

Hmmm...Well, I wear glasses, but that doesn't mean I am blind without them. They allow me to see everything with as much detail as I originally could, I think.

However, I think you are tackling the subject from too few an angle! Personally, I always check out the eyes of someone first upon meeting them. The eyes are the windows to the soul, I think the saying goes. However, rather than feel held back by my sight, I find the glasses give me a defining feature (other than the hat I always wear). I never saw my glasses as a weakness, just something else to add on to me.

But then again, I've had glasses for a while, and my family has pretty bad eyesight, and is pretty short through and through. So I guess 1/2 ain't bad.

I suppose that is true. I completely forgot the window to the soul so we can talk about that as well.

I like being able to see things in great detail but I've been forced to wear glasses ever since the 6th grade. At first I liked them but ever since they started digging literal holes into my skin I've liked them less and less...

Sight is incredibly important though; I wouldn't be able to enjoy my life without it. Everything I do involves sight in one way or another and the disability to see would ruin me. I hope to one day get over my fear of keeping my eyes open while lasers open up my eye and beam it up so that I can see without these horrid, flesh tearing contraptions, but until then I persevere through the pain as without them I wouldn't be able to see a foot in front of me without severe blur.
